  1. Nice watch, but tough to find.
  2. I agree to an extent.... but this statement does not address some very minor but naggin cosmetic issues that would appear to be easy to fix from a lay person's perspective such as fat crown guards etc...
  3. What are you, some kind of 32 year old with a 25 year old wife or something??
  4. Honestly, i have read this thread 3-4 times now, and i am still not sure i understand what issue is being discussed, and what/ if there is a complaint. Bottom line here is that prices are not driven by production or marketing costs, sweat-equity, dealer risks etc... prices are driven by what the buyers are prepared to pay for the product. The other stuff ctaken together with price contributes to profitability but at the end of the day, prices are set by market conditions. supply and demand dynamics do not include costs factors
  5. I did the same. I am not sure which is closest to the gen, but I must say, I love the replacement insert. It offsets the dial ncely, and the pearl is MUCH better!!
  6. I agree with that. It is a falacy that big watches cannot be worn on thin wrists.
  7. Great post. You enjoy this as a hobby, pure and simple. No further explanation needed. Good for you.
  8. This worked well for me too, although i could not prythe bezel mine off with my thumbnail. Instead, i used the flat section of my swiss army knife blade to very gently pry it off. Worked fine. Unfortunetly, before doing this, i attempted to pry the insert off wth a tootpick and scracthed it... not horribly, but it still bothers me. So I decided to purchase an aftermarket replacement. which i should have in a day or 2. I must agree wth pugwash on this (in fact it was your review that convinced me to get the watch) say, this is an awesome watch for the money.. really quite beautiful and keeps excellent time.
  9. nail polish remover also works, but i am not sure if that will effect the paint on the insert.

you can find inserts on e-bay for approx. USD 17-25.00. Raymond Lee Jewlers is a power seller that offers inserts and bezels http://www.raymondlee.com/contact.php. I called them and ordered one last week, but I am still waiting for it to arrive.
  12. well, you're too fast and I am in the wrong time zone
  13. If you do not feel like you should discount my advise would be to not. I understand that as a seller, you feel disadvantaged in not knowing how to set a fair price for a unique product, but as a consumer, I would feel the same way in making an offer. So it is a conundrum.. niether the buyer nor the seller know how to set a fair price... however, in a free market it is ususally the responsiblility of the seller to be the price giver. By not posting a price, you transfer this responsiblity to the buyer.. I guess that is not the worst thing that can happen, but as a potential buyer, I kinda feel like this is not my job. Even on e-bay there are minimun bids and for many products "buy it now" prices. I agree with the previous poster that posting prices is better for the consumer. I also kind of worry that if you do not, you change the whole dynamic of the board and our little closed market. I mean, members are allowed to post without a price, it kind of places our dealers who are required to post with prices in a disadvantageous position too. Still, I get your point it is a delicate process.
  14. I am actually more interested in the observations (conclusions?) than the questions.. hope you will discuss those as well...
  15. I think far too much attention is being devoted to the beer at the expense of the fashion show. OMG!!!
  16. interesting reading.
  17. well, right back at ya!
  18. thanks.. i think
  19. Ouch!! I have been backhanded!!!
  20. As of today, my position is that dealers require 100 posts before allowing the use of pay pal
  21. 'weaselsque' is a great word.
  22. I actually think your first answer is correct. The subject of the sentenance is "Mr and Mrs. Jones" Gramatically I think the phrase ""half of them are boys" references the subject. Therefore Mr Jones would be the half that is referenced.
  23. "... Jesus catching fish..."? LMAO
