  1. Hi all, originally posted this in the Omega section, but in hindsight its far more relevant here. Any help welcome..... Hi all. After a bit of advice really. I recently purchased a 50th Anniversary Moon watch from PT, its a lovely piece and so I was all the more disheartend when one of my friends pointed out that one of the markers is slightly smudged. I understand that i must be prepared for slight flaws on any rep, however i feel that this has now reduced my enjoyment of the rep. having contacted PT he recommended that I could purchase a new face/dial and have a watch smith relace the original. So my question is this, does any know of a reliable and trustworthy watch smith in the UK capable of doing this (...and at a reasonable price!) whom I can mail the watch to for the work to be done? Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Cheers!

  3. I also received this rep today. Must say I am VERY impressed!! Unfortunately my camera is "Out of action" at the moment, but all i can say is, the photos posted by Kenmasters do not do the piece justice (..no disrespect intended Kenmasters). I would recommend this rep to anyone and further more I would recommend Precious Time for an A+ service and "To the day" delivery estimate. Thanks! just a quick question though, as this is a hand wind piece how do I know when to stop winding?? Will it be obvious or is it possible to over wind? Probably sounds stupid, but the last thing I want to do is wind this baby up to the point of breaking it!! Any advice welcome!
  4. Great review, thanks!! I have the same watch on order as we speak, can't wait for it to be delivered now, your shots look even better than the promo shots which convinced me to buy it in the first place!
  5. Kenmasters, I can confirm that the picture on the Trusty Time site isnt the actual model shipped. Having been in contact with them just this week, they cofirmed to me that the model which they send has flat glass and no accent on the word tachymetre.
  6. ...I am in the same boat as you my friend! Im also after a decent rep of this watch, but can't seem to track down an accurate copy (..aside from the sub spacing). If any one has any suggestions they would be more than welcome!!
  7. ...Hi all! Does anyone know where i can get hold of a decent rep of a speedy moon watch? Ive been trying in vein to get a rep that doesnt have a sure fire giveaway. For instance nearly all the models I have enquired about do not have the accent on the "
  8. Hi all. Probably old news, But I found this on Trustys site. LINK Is this based around a real watch and if so is it an accurate replica? Cheers!
  9. ....perhaps its best not to get to hung up on the "2007" bit. It was literally just to gauge the general concensous of the best available and most accurate Omega replicas available, it just happens to be occuring in 2007 thats all!! Pugwash, i did consider creating a poll but then thought id come under fire for missing or leaving out certain models. Also the hope was that people would leave a link to the watch that they considered the best available, creating a onestop thread for friends and members alike to quickly persuse the best the web has to offer, though so far this doesnt seem to have caught on. Im just a newb, trying to create a bit of discussion and interest, please feel free to recreate this in a more user friendly format if i havent perhaps done the best job I could. Sincere apologies if this is the case.
  10. ..yes, many thanks for entering into the spirit of things but please restrict this strictly to models of Omega watches. Thanks
  11. ...apologies if i wasnt as clear as I perhaps could have been. The poll is intended to identify the most accurate replica of the Omega brand of watch only. This is then open to any of the models under the Omega banner (..ie Broad Arrow, Moonwatch, planet ocean etc etc). I originally thought that not only would it be interesting to see which came top, but the inclusion of the links to each respective site would allow visitors and members alike to view the best on offer all in one thread. I hope that you will all continue to add your thoughts and links!!
  12. ...regardless of Omega model (..obviously) Hence posted in the Omega forum!
  13. Ok, there has been a lot of discussion through various threads regards various models of watch, so isnt it time it a top ten of replicas was decided? I propose this thread is dedicated to seeking out the most authentic, accurate, replica on the market regardless of model and compiling some kind of "top ten". Perhaps the best format would be to provide a link to the site and model of the watch you think best fits the criteria and the most popular wins the title of "Best Rep 2007"!!! Hey this could even be an annual award, like our Oscars, I'll let you guys decide...... Happy voting!!! (...remember to incude a link to your favourite rep or site)
  14. Sorry just saw your last mail. Thanks.
  15. Thanks for this, sounds good to me! Would I be right in assuming that for prices etc you must contact the dealer direct as I see no details on the site.
  16. ...Thanks for the input guys. Its a real shame that no one is doing a good acccurate rep of this classic watch, Im sure it would go down a real storm. CegaRazoR, please forgive my ignorance but "Jays site"? Do you have a link to this site please? Also I checked out the link from FxrAndy (...thanks btw) the site looks real nice but can anyone vouch for the quality of the watches provided by this company, if so I could very well be interested!
  17. Afternoon all! Long time admirer, first time poster here, with all the usual "Newbie" questions im sure!! Having read a lot of your posts and reviews I must firstly say "thanks" for the insight into the world of rep watches. I have been looking to buy a Speedmaster "Moonwatch" replica for a while now and on the advice of these forums have found a few sites that offer varying models. Im quite keen on the glass back model and hoped for some advice foremostly on, 1) Where i can purchase the best example replica of this watch? and 2) Is the watch at this LINK a particularly good example and what are the obvious flaws as the price seems very reasonable? I know some of you have been promoters of Andrew's work and I have read a lot of good things about the service he offers, but can anyone also advise if I would be likely to incur any extra charges for having the watch shipped to the UK (over and above his postage charge) I.e. some kind of duty charge. Sorry for all the questions, but Im sure im in the right place for some quality answers! Thanks in advance!!
