  1. I have one, and I like it, it does have a display caseback, with the Chinese Unitas clone... overall quality has been good, BUT the crown guard assembly is noticably more flimsy than an earlier 47mm I bought from Paul. Due to some less than favorable reviews about Paul, and serious delays in his response to emails, I have been reluctant to purchase from him again. Overall, it is a good deal at $155, if you could get it from Sichuan.
  2. i don't have a better suggestion... all i am saying is that it is somewhat of an exaggeration to suggest this is "perfect", when there are so many other good reps out there, which are considerably closer to being IDENTICAL to the original. For example, using hte 7750 movement, there is the Breitling chronographs, which have no sub-dial spacing issue. Or the Cartier Tank 2000 from Joshua, which uses the SAME movement (ETA 2000) as the original, or hte Franck Muller Conquistador, which comes pretty close to be exactly correct. Don't take offense, but any Omega enthusists worth his salt would spot these reps to be a rep, whereas it would be harder with each of hte above-referenced models.
  3. I can't see how this is "perfect" when the sub-dial spacing is off, the six-o'clock sub-dial is only a redundant hour hand, and the movement is clearly not close to the original...
  4. I am interested in purchasing this watch, but all the pictures I've seen of the genuine vintage "Explorer" and "1016" models have different text on the dial (above the six o'clock position). Can someone please tell me which Rolex model these replicas are meant to copy?
  5. true, but how many of us that really going to spend $5,000 plus for a Panerai Fiddy? or $10,000 plus for a frank muller?
  6. Are you sure that's a seven jewel movement? Looks very similar to the standard 17/19 jewel movement from Tianjin Watch Factory.
  7. why do you say that? is there something coming down the pike?
  8. i've heard that julesborel.com is now stocking hte asian 7750 movement, although they don't advertise it on their website, they are apparently available if you call and request for them... must be a legal issue thing
  9. Thank you! That is very observant of you to notice. Do you suppose it would be difficult to source an original dial? I like the watch, but at $378, it is still a bit rich for me.... maybe i'll wait until the price comes down a bit!
  10. That's how the addiction always begins...
  11. close, but two things still remain deficient: 1) engraving on caseback is not in the same font as the original 2) bridges are too "rough" and not like the more nicely polished original.
  12. I may be interested if you can source them within the next month.
  13. Actually, Davidsen now carries the CN with the longer canon pins, so i suspect that the parts are interchangeable?
  14. depends on what environment you expect to find yourself in on a daily basis... black-tie - then a franck muller...all round cool - a vintage Explorer, trendy casual, maybe a SMP, flashy, then a Panerai... my pick would be for the vintage explorer, if you could live with some of the discrepencies with teh original.
  15. what's with all the harsh words about paul? i've bought from him in the past, doesn't seem like a bad guy.
  16. does anyone have a picture of the original item?
