Forgive me, it's a genuine swiss (ie in the $150 to $200 price range) or Gen Omega ??
-
How's the second hand sweep? Smooth or somewhat choppy? What about the date font? Compare the date font to other Omegas.
Choppy sweeping hand/crappy date font - usually asian
Smooth sweeping hand/non-crappy date font - usually eta
Hope that helps.
I'd say smooth imo. Also the date font is not quite as bold as my Gen SMP Chrono, but still looks fine.

Sorry, I've added some better (I think) pictures now, and tried to put them in this post as well.
So it looks like a Swiss ETA Movement ?
-
certainly not a 21j!
Forgive me, does that mean it's worse than a 21j, or better ! ?
-
I've added pictures of the movement if someone could advise please ! (it says swiss on it, but who knows !)
-
Congrats DB2

Thanks Chaps, I'll see if I can remove the back and check out the movement as a start
It's a learning curve, but it's fun learning

I assume 33 views and no replies probably means it's a poor rep and not worth much ?

We'll someone has to win
Let's all hope it's me
Seriously though, good luck to all

Hi all,
Been a lurker here for a long time, but just got back into my watches
I bought an Omega Seamaster 007 from here back in 2008 from user "sockme66" for $229 inc shipping (I'm UK)
I can't find the original for sale thread, so I can't find any details on it as to movement type / quality etc, but now I would like to sell it as I haven't worn it (been wearing my Gen SMP C Pro).
Here are some pics, can anyone help me with a good description of it / fair valuation please ?

I appreciate any help - Thanks !

Hey all,
1st started getting interested in these a year ago, bought a very poor rep and then started reading forums (typical beginners mistake !)
Got disheartend then, and other things in my life took over, but back on the look out for a good rep now
I have a Genuine Omega SMP Chronograph which I bought in 2002 and it is in desperate need of a good service and polish etc as I have worn it every day since purchase !
Omega service centre in London are quoting 12 weeks to do this (sounds crazy !) so I'd love to find a nice rep to wear for 3 months
Keeping my eye out for a Panerai, they look like lovely watches, I like the metal bracelets, the crown guard and hopefully one with the open back too - my only concern is the size - are they large compared to the Omega SMP ? ( I think my SMP is a MID ?)
Anyway, just saying Hi
New-style Omega SMP chrono review!
