  1. JoJo,

Fantastic watches. Examples such as yours and Freddy's posts made me realise that there's got to be more to this hobby than just buyng more and more ready to wear stuff. It's started me off down the modding road and vintage is the way to go. This post on RWG was my first encounter with a watch that gave me the horn! Here it is: Horny Watch

My first project is underway and it's giving me a greater buzz then any out-of-the-box-super-rep will every do.

I'd like to know what you did, your parts sources and, a little nosey I know, what you spent but then I'll understand if the master doesn't want to give away all his secrets too lightly.

    Nice one.

    KC

  2. Gents, thanks for the advice - really appreciate it. I'm rather taken with Miquel's bezel and that minute marker-less white triangled insert in Freddy's 2nd post.

I've seen posts on the forum explaining how to take apart, fix, put together etc but I guess I'll still need to bother you all for help at some stage.

Here are 2 further photos showing the bracelet that it came with it. The second better shows the face which has a pleasant aging to it.

  3. I wanted this from ND trading but at $3,800, my other half was going to make sure that I didn't live twice:

So instead I got this MBK from Chris for a tenth of the price. Came with a nice riveted bracelet but I prefer it on the NATO.

Am I happy? Yes indeed. Not sure what to do to it first - suggestions welcome but bear in mind I'm a virgin modder.

  4. Just thought that I'd let you know what's happened to this one now that I've had it over a year.

    Well, in short, nothing.

It still works perfectly. I wear it 5 days a week to work. It never gains or loses time. I haven't needed to service or repair it.

It's been dropped on the floor twice but hasn't picked up any dings.

I am so pleased with this.

Yours, touching a big bit of wood, KC

  5. For what it's worth, I've just noticed the difference between the 2 listings (apart from opening price). You probably got there long ago.

Original listing: I have owned the watch for around five years. The previous owner stated it was found at the bottom of Portland Harbour, Dorset, (where the Royal Navy had a base until the 1990's) during a dive.

Revised listing: I have owned the watch for around five years after it was handed down to me.

    Laz

Well thanks Laz! I thought I knew what I wanted but now I haven't got a clue. They're all tastey!

  7. hey guys. I'm from london. I'm a newbie at rwg1 but it crashed. Just ordered a bentley 6.75 but had to send it back. waiting for a replacement. white face on ss. It was a beauty but the subdial was off. cant wait to get my replacement.

    I think there's loads of us from London - me, you & Spy - that's loads isn't it ?

  8. Certainly with ebay.co.uk and I can't think that ebay.com would be any different, sellers can no longer leave negative or neutral feedback. It has to be possitive or nothing at all.

This change doesn't apply to buyers who can continue to leave whatever feedback they like. So go ahead and don't worry about calling him a toe rag and rating him red.
