  1. This just never ceases to amaze me. One of the least complicated watches to replicate yet all makers refuses to get it all right.....

They can get the HBB nearly perfect yet they can't fix the dial on the santos 100

    sighhhh....

The PWC version is the best still (on right).

And for the lucky 9 guys...the rocket dial version on the left (best santos 100 available today) on 9 though.

  2. I think this graph from the federal reserve will tell you how scared you should really be...

    usdebtserendipitythumb6ac1.jpg

This tells us that since the 80's we have counted debt as GDP growth...it's the same as me going to that bank to borrow 500k and then thinking I am well off because I have this loan money sitting in my bank account.

We are here because of excess credit creation which The Federal Reserve caused, and their solution is more borrowing? :nono:

That gives new life to the statement "when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail."

The economic realities are something I myself don't want to face but it will come....

Just think about all the things we can't have in order to come out of this...

We can't have things for free.

We can't spend more than we make.

Houses can't sell for more than 3x incomes and be sustainable. Prices must come down.

We can't keep charging up the nation's (or our personal) credit cards.

We can't have both good-paying jobs in the US and $30 DVD players. Pick one but don't [censored] when the other disappears.

We can't tax or spend our way out of this mess. The bad debt must be defaulted, and this will mean bankruptcies among both people and companies (including banks) - lots of them. This is inevitable.

  3. The only purpose was to inform others of possible would be laws. I am aware of how a bill becomes a law, my post is only for informational purposes. This has passed the house by a 404 to 6 vote. All sorts of bills are drafted almost daily but this sort of bill seems to be getting made into law at a more alarming pace.

    Military comission act

    Patriot act

    National ID act

    FISA

  4. Fox news...

I am so tired of educating myself I am almost ready to go back to my life of bliss and ignorance!

Check out the latest piece of legislation in the senate to be passed (I hope it doesn't)

Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007

For those people who are not familiar with this act, it's directed at US citizens and basically takes away some more civil liberties.

Ideologically -based violence???WTF? The internet is also being targeted on this bill. They can identify you as a terrorist even if you have an idea that doesn't conform to a society norm. They can throw you in jail for having an idea?? The bill is written so vaguely that it's interpretation can be applied to just about any individual or group. If they throw you in jail you do realize we don't have Habeus Corpus because you would be identified as a enemy combatant (military commission act signed into law by George W).

Why on earth did no new agency cover the story of how our right to trial by jury has been taken away for bills like this. What happen to innocent until proven guilty?

Here is some definitions from the bill itself.

    For purposes of this subtitle:

`(1) HOMEGROWN TERRORISM- The term `homegrown terrorism' means the use, planned use, or threatened use, of force or violence by a group or individual born, raised, or based and operating primarily within the United States or any possession of the United States to intimidate or coerce the United States government, the civilian population of the United States, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.

`(2) RADICALIZATION- The term `radicalization' means the process of adopting or promoting an extremist belief system for the purpose of facilitating ideologically-based violence to advance political, religious, or social change.

`(3) IDEOLOGICALLY-BASED VIOLENCE- The term `ideologically-based violence' means the use, planned use, or threatened use of force or violence by a group or individual to promote the group or individual's political, religious, or social beliefs.

=@ =@ God save us all.

I hate politics and I really want to refrain from posting political crap. I just feel like people should know the junk being written and put before our law makers.

  5. No GPS in a Vertu but it's a slick phone! The gen is anywhere from 1800 to 5000 bucks Great first phone to have R :good: It also shows that you are not drawn like bugs to the light for all the new gadgets that come out. You must be one of the few that have your priorities straight cause gadgets to me are like diamonds to women ;)

  6. We all may not have agreed with the protesters cause but if we don't enforce our constitutional rights then where are we? Patriot Act anyone?....yeah... I still think it's horrible for any redblooded American.

Imagine if we didn't all have the first amendment right?? That's the beauty of this place.....we can say whatever we feel like with out much fear of any concequences.

Yeah, maybe they where a bunch of loony toons but they have the right to be loonies as long as they bring harm to no one.

As for the Carlyle Group.....something smells to high heaven in that company and the origin of it's profits.

  7. Well, hypothetically speaking, the United States remains under the rule of law - laws enacted by a legislature. No politician who gives a [censored] about his career is going to present a bill proposing compulsory RFID tagging of the entire U.S. populace. Sorry, but the RFID lobby is not THAT big.

I know. I am just saying that if something like this ever gets proposed then I hope we haven't been swayed so much that we blindly just vote junk like that into law. =@

I didn't think any politcian would want to give up most of their rights of privacy either but it happened when they voted the patriot act into law.

  8. It's disputed as to whether or not the fire that cemented the Nazi party's control of Germany was caused by the Communists, as the courts of the time claimed, or by the Nazis themselves as a false flag action.

I very much doubt that 9/11 was a false flag as the sheer number of people needed to keep it quiet is too large to be possible, especially with the information technology we have at our disposal today.

But the fact of the matter is that I am not disputing the events of 911- it was a tragedy plain an simple no matter who or what the circumstances were behind it.....nuff said.

I am trying to make sense of the actions we took and the policies implemented for the good of all the people.after the fact.

At this point I don't think it matters as to what the proposed solution is be it RFID tagging, national ID card or whatever.

My naive hope is that we as freedom loving rep guys have the freedom to choose and have a say for what is the best course of action.

If it ever comes to the stage that the government wants to promote a bill that requires all citizens to be tagged like cattle and we vote that some b*tch into law (after we carefully weight the ramifications of such things)....then we deserve it. I don't want to be following the herd of cattle right over the cliff. I am just hypothetically speaking of course.

Even a dummy like me can piece that one together. I want our rights and our constitution to remain written in stone. I don't want to see my right to free speech and other guaranteed rights as an American slowly taken away from me in the name of security.

that's all....now it's my job not to be a moron and bring some intelligence to the table when crunch time arrives....and that is all we can expect from each other.

  9. An annual subscription to the Economist is a good start.

It is an easily digestable dose of news - well researched and written - politically somewhere in the center - and covers the entire globe. Despite the title, this weekly publication covers politics, art, literature, science, social issues, the environment, and (of course) economic and business issues. The analysis is sophisticated and in depth. The letters to the editor are not censored and can be as illuminating as the articles they critique. You will get the important news from all the continents without many space wasting glossy photos and without ANY of the nonsense tabloid stuff.

In case you are still not convinced, just look at how well reps and the Economist mesh:

    1-3.jpg

whoa...now....thanks to my public school education I can only read at a 9th grade level John. Baby steps.....baby steps. :p:p

My dad likes the Economist and he is an old school farmer. He still farms to this day! I am sure that is where I get my line of thinking from. thanks a lot dad

It's hard sometimes to try to be informed. My wife always makes light of my views in jest of course. She says...."oooh boy, so what does the conspiracy theorist have to say now?" I do need that from time to time cause if I didn't have her I would be in my basement hunkered down reading anti-goverment websites with a aluminum foil cap on.
