  1. I got to tell you it was pretty funny if you think about it. To my credit I wasn't trying to pass it off as gen and I didn't reply to his compliment but after it was all said and done what's a guy to do? You just can't help but laugh.
  2. I have just never had anyone question the authenticity of any of my watches and to have something like that happen makes a guy look like a huge TOOL  Lucky for me they don't know any of my other friends
  3. Thanks TT. I did want to share my experience cause I just couldn't stop laughing after we left dinner. I am sure that other couple was thinking I had a canal street special when we parted company. Sorry I couldn't meet up with you guys when you came down here. I really wanted to meet up with you guys but just couldn't work it out.
  4. good point. Who am I trying to fool here except for myself?? It's only 1 week old and is supposed to be the "perfect" version. What a crock! I will sale it for what the market will bring which might not be much.
  5. So rocket girl and I went out to dinner tonight with some friends of ours at a swanky new restaurant. Now these are friends that we both know and hang out with occasionally. So of course I wanted a sport a watch with a little bit of bling for the night and that watch was the Asian movement perfect Yachty. While having dinner the husband did make a compliment about the my watch which was nice and he did mention " I need to get me one of those some day". So by this time my ego was inflated and I felt like my Rolex aversion that I always have had was unfounded. Anyhow we moved to a nice bistro across the street for some dessert and espresso. while talking with each other I reached over to take a drink of my espresso and then I heard a clang like someone dropped a quarter or something -well the bezel of my ultra cool blinged out yachty had fell off . Hoping no one had noticed I picked it up and put it back on and all the while the guy that had just gave me a compliment on my Rolex says "I think your Rolex fell apart" OMG!!! At that point I could not describe the amount of embarrassment I was feeling. I avoided the subject and just said "what in the world? I better take this back to get repaired" Then his wife added some insult to injury and said "where in the world did you buy that from?" double OMG!!! I just wanted to earth to open up and for me to just fall in. Lucky for us it happened around the time we where getting ready to pay and leave but needless to say I am not sure if I want to have dinner with those people again as I would die of embarrassment Here is a pic of the of the culprit. Just so everyone knows. I am going to fix the bezel and you will see it up for sale for about a 100 bucks. By rocket754, shot with EX-Z750. at 2007-06-22
  6. One could say that. I have a select patient list though
  7. hmmmm....well, here I am. South beach Miami Halloween 2006. One of my favorite pastimes The girl in the pic above is also the model for this pic.
  8. so here is a picture of the template we will start with. Here is the updated dial version that all the dealers have and is still way off. gen on the left and improved Asian movement dial on the right. If david can correct a couple flaws on the dial on the right everything should be done. The dial on the right is already being produced by a factory it just needs a couple tweeks to give us a perfect dial.
  9. Ok... I know I am again trying to bring back a dead thread in hopes of making the correct santos dial but I want to put another suggestion out there for people to consider Why don't we take this dial and make a scan of it to send to davidson? http://replica-watch.info/forum/viewtopic....p=233903#233903 This dial is by far the best version out there. 1. The words "Cartier" and "Automatic" are spaced correctly finally. 2. The roman numberals are very close to perfect (almost anyway) 3. The "Swiss Made" under the roman numberal 6 is not correct but that should be a easy fix for a custom dial. 4. It still is printed on a wave pattern dial but that should be and easy fix also...just don't print the stupid thing on a wave pattern blank dial I think this is about as good an option as we have for this project that is almost dead.....
  10. Why o why can't the factorys just turn out one good Cartier rep????????? Does anyone have any interest in the 44mm or 47mm Roadster Chrono with an Asain 7750 movement to keep the cost down?
  11. I got to say Rossi is just an amazing motorcycle racer. I kind of wish Mick Doohan was still around though. He always dominated most races but it is interesting to see someone at the top of his game.
  12. I have this version one the way myself thanks to BK
  13. Pretty darn close if you ask me This is a good rep straight out of the box.
  14. Nothing like a good ole' boobie-Q  I am so full I am going to burst :yucky:
  15. minutes before eating some good BBQ..
  16. Anybody looking for a relatively inexpensive Cartier rep can look no further than the Pasha Seatimer. It's been a favorite of mine and I would like to show just how close this timepiece is. The pics of the gen are borrowed but they are used for educational purposes. The dial for the seatimer is spot on for a rep. If you think about it....the dial is really pretty simple. No real complicated details. The gen is always on the top. Some versions didn't have any lume on the pearl but all new versions have the lume just make sure it fills the triangle completely. Compare: The bracelet should have screws in every link just like the gen. Some versions didn't have them but most new models are correct. Also the version you buy should have the ring that raises above the bezel. See below Compare: The rep bracelet is very good. I believe the rubberized bracelet adds some sport flavor to this model. The Cartier trademarks are correct on borth the clasp and the bracelet Compare: The crown cover and carbochon are very close. The rep version seems to sit deeper in the crown cover than the gen. I think this is getting nitpicky however this watch is near perfect. I does have flaws but you should really let the pictures do the talking. I would say this is under rated super rep. I would expect it to merit that status or at least near it. I believe most all the forum dealers can get this watch for you so choose your dealer and then make your purchase.
  17. Your version was one of the best I have seen. If only someone would be able to get a gen dial. you going to be around these parts next month?
  18. exactly. The dial is the major flaw in an otherwise great watch never-the-less it is a great timepiece.
  19. So when are you going to take the final count and place the order?
  20. finally some pics. Looks really nice RT. Great watch to have without a doubt I am sure we all will see this version start to show up everywher soon. Enjoy! Now if the factories would just see fit to make the 44mm Cartier Roadster......
  21. ironically I don't have any wrist shots of girls wearing PAMs...go figure
