The best by far for small items is the foam sanding blocks or sheets you find at hardware or jeweller supply stores. Place the sheet on a flat surface then move the item (guard in your case) in straight lines over it. The fine version gives a very good finish and by holding the guard straight you will get a very tidy uniform brush pattern.

There were some very well made Swiss 7750 based Chronomat replicas available about 3 years back. I think Maria (MBW) stocked them. I think they were steel from memory though.

I picked up several pairs of Jeans a few months back in Singapore (actually the only replica items I saw the whole time there) and there are very very well made. Armani, Versace, and CK branded. All around $25 approximatly. The sizes are all over the place though, I have 30, 32 and 36 inch and they all fit!! They fit a feel just like the real thing though which surprised me. Had to try a whole load on before buying If anyone wants the Singapore location PM me.

The hand should have a short tube behind it, but the pin should obviously stay behind on the movement. If you've broken it then it need to be replaced which is not a major job but definitly one for a watchmaker.

Actually I like it, not sure what size it is though.. all the other Bentley's looks great until you actualy try them on and realise they are built for gorilla arms. Anyone know the exact dimensions of this one?

hmmm... if the hijackers are quoting watch prices then they must be a at least somewhat familiar with reps and the prices charged. Makes you wonder if they don't lurk here from time to time.

The better titanium reps, eg the Breitling Avenger, IWC GST and Panerai's are genuine titanium. The easiest way to refinish it is with a fibreglass scratch pen available form most jeweller supply firms.

What happened to the near perfect one Watchonpo had a month or so back?? Don't tell me that was another Japan exclusive model like the 187? I would have expected our dealers to have it by now.

I agree with Ken, its going to be a tough one to get the exterior done properly, just look at the AP Montoya reps which are a vaguely similar theme with lots of detail, materials and inserts... the reps are terrible.

I don't think they are still available.. at least last time I asked. It did look like a damm good rep, although asian movement with non-functional chronos still

The real one only uses a 7750 movement so it'll be pretty easy to do a decent rep. I'm quite sure we will see one soon. Reps are usually made of the watch models that are popular in Asia (not the rest of the world) hence the funny ones that do and don't come out like you would expect. In Singapore 2 weeks ago every Hublot dealer was sold out and had waiting lists miles long for Big Bangs. Hence I have every confidence that one isn't far off.

Sad to say it but the current SMP's are not the rep they used to be. The quality has dropped noticably in the last 6 months. See if you can track down an older rep from a member here. They are a lot better.

Well I got one... yes I have a 177h fetish.. When you bid you get the opportunity to bid for the number you require.. then I guess it just goes back down the list and allocates them to the bidders after the close of the auction. I paid $100 anyway.

Excellent work.. I have had one of the quartz Offshore reps and it can be stripped down to its basic components fairly easily including bezel (and rehaut) removal. Therefore it should not to too hard to get any required machining done to accomodate the dial. Any precision machine shop can do this pretty easily if you provide accurate dimensions of what is required.

Ouch... that will cost you. The real movements are on ebay from time to time for about $1500. Hell of a price for a 2893 with some engraving!! I very much doubt you will find a genuine rotor outside a Panerai service centre

Actually I quite like it, the dial isn't exactly subtle but I've always loved the gun barrel imagery in the bond title sequence. Love the second hand. Bring on the reps!!

Nice work.. the video really does show more about the size then stills could ever do. Love the 212.. might be my next rep yet.

www.julesborel.com is also a good source and can be a little cheaper than Otto Frei's. Other tools you need for basic work: Screwdrivers (don't skimp, get A&F, Bergeon or Horotek) Tweezers (Get some pretty decent ones, its worth it) Oils and Oil pin (La Perle oil is cheap and good for reps) Hand remover Hand setter Rodico (super handy, removes finger prints, hold small parts, must have item)

@Pam Perhaps you could save a bit of time and post some more details here. For example, the price for one unit and for volume, the types of watch and types of movement they will fit. Trust me you'll save a pile of time answering pm's.

The newest Omega Shumacher models have a 7750 that I can't quite determine. Its got the fine adjust regulator but has the five bearing rotor like the newer ones. Anyone have any further ideas which it is??
