  9. Would like to find a maker/seller who has REAL Swiss 7750 Arktos and PAM0088 GMTs. Can anyone please help?
  10. No sympathy here, only my true well wishes. I hope all goes well for you and your family. Don't be afraid to depend on your "community" for support, this is a GREAT bunch of nuts here ...tops in my book. Again, ALL THE BEST to you and yours buddy.
  11. Here's a little known PAM0036 fact. The 36 was released with a T dial, but there are 3 with L dials. One was used for the catalog Photo and has a marked case (now resides in the Panerai Museo Firenze. The two remaining examples are shadows (nothing on the case), one with Mr. Bonati himself and the other is unknown The L and T dials have slightly different colors with the T's being a darker color. I will shoot a scan of the two side by side by the weekend.
  12. Yes, the case if for a PAM0086 dial. Note the ANTHR on the case. BTW, MX and PAV were for diferent parts. PAV were usually straps and buckles in the early days.
  13. No worries all, Mr. Bonati is staying put! In a communication I had earlier today Mr.B said and I quote "I will never go to another Brand Panerai is enough" You see, Panerai is Mr. Bonati's ship ..... and he's an Admiral.
  14. It's gen, and by the looks of it was an old dial replaced in service. Note the case says "DESTRO" from another model. The Cartier straps and dial he's selling would suggest he worked in the Vendome service dept. BTW, I will have some gen dials available soon.
  15. Panerai PVD vs DLC For those of you who don't know me I'm Uncle Jay. I'm a long time collector of Panerai watches and moderator to both Paneristi and TZ Panerai forum. When Mr. Bonati first told me he would do a "Special Collector's" Panerai I went crazy, this was the first ever of it's kind. After months of email and phone calls Mr. Bonati agreed to resurrect both the Logo and PVD. Originally the 195 was to use NOS PVD cases (just to get them out of the warehouse) and special Logo dials and personalized case backs. Later Panerai had steel cases blasted and DLCd in it's place. The reasoning was that the NOS PVD cases were needed to replace any older watches in for repair and that the new DLC process was more durable. Either way, they became history. Below you find a picture of my 195 and a custom PVD Logo. The Logo has an original PVD case, you can see the difference. Vacor AG still does PVD while IWW does DLC. 16. Arnold is wearing a 5218-203/A (#24) Pre Vendome. The closest Vendome would be the Pre-A, A, and B series PAM0004s with T dial. Some early Pre-A come with the T- Pre Vendome dials. Also, the 195, but that's DLC coated not PVD. Arnie's watch was a gift from Sly. Funny enough Sly wore a PAM in Daylight before his gift to Arnie, but Eraser was released first so it made it to the big screen before Sly's 201/A (#6).
  17. Here's a scan of my original PAM0195 "Uncle Jay" and a custom watch .... The "PVD Logo". I used an original A series PVD case, an unmatched Pre-V Logo dial and Tritium hands, and a newer Panerai movement. Hope you enjoy. Best, Uncle Jay
  18. Hello, I'm a newbie here, so I need some help. Looking for a Bond Submariner replica ..... a GOOD one. Any help out there please? Just starting with replica watches. Bought a 5218-201/A today (to match my original) and will soon have an AP "EOD" (also to match my original) as I hear they are very well made.
  19. I'm looking for MBW, can anyone help. I hear that WatchMaster and Luckyy also sell top line stuff, any info would be helpful.
  20. I've used Jack at IWW several times. He's PVD'd (DLC) a few Panerai cases for me and other Panerai collectors. It's actually DLC which is what Panerai used for the now fameous PAM00195 and what other companies use today. PVD has a metalic shine while DLC has a matte finish. PVD can is done by VACOR AG who did the PVD on the original Panerai A and B series cases. Below are links to both companies and a pic of my 195 (DLC case) and a custom Panerai using a Panerai A series case.http://www.angelfire.com/blues/andcameysiww/Firstpage.htmlhttp://www.vacor.li/english/vacor.asp?id=32
