  1. This replica of ceramic Ingenieur is not very accurate. Look for the reasons given above. I think you can't go wrong with these models:

    Ingenieur AMG Ti Chrono/non Chrono

    Ingenieur SS Chrono/non Chrono

I was torn between all these models. All has their unique flaws so I settled with 3 of them and start modifying them.

Firstly on all AMG rep, the caseback is not really 1:1. You can see the genuine has much better finishing. The Ti feels slightly different too. The genuine has a much finer finishing. On the chronograph models, you have to deal with dodgy Asian 7750 with running second at 6. So if reliability tops your list, go for non chrono version. The non chrono version suffers from slightly wrong datefont and short minute hand. Apart from that, none of the caseback looks 1:1 to original. The Co. on SS model is wrong and again the Ti AMG models suffers from slightly less detailed caseback.

The bottom line if you go for one of these, get a double sided AR coating. It makes a huge difference. Watch out for dodgy bracelet too. I have seen recent SS bracelet on this Ingenieur is not as well made as the older first generation.

  2. I have to disagree that the new style bracelet is better than the old one. I have seen many on the gen (newer version that is). It just doesn't look as well crafted and well blended onto the watch as what the old bracelet did. The new bracelet is a single piece construction on each link, leaving it not so possible for Ti/SS combo.

  3. I believe that would be the latter too.

There's an old saying in my country but the bottom line, no matter how big/how good you are, there is always room for mistake.

This is a potential room of mistake on Google's part. Let us see and remind me about this thread again next year.

  4. Mod, please move to the correct section if necessary. I would like to share with you my reports.

Taka is reporting. Let me know if you need me to go there again tomorrow. It's only 10 minutes drive from my home.

Catalogues are given free of charge.

My favourite model is the rattrapante PVD and PAM028 reissue with hobnail dial.

    Enjoy the pics:

This is the worst model... New caliber with GMT. Just does not make sense. Where is the 24 hours markers? At least they should put it on the dial or somewhere on the bezel.

New calibre disassembled. I have to admit, Panerai is getting good at it. I like the finishing of the movement. Definitely something as good as Soprod (maybe this company do it for Panerai still?) and Girard Perragaux.

    last but not least,

    P7081037.jpg

The complicated 8 days movement. Don't get a Fiddy... get this instead and the value will be very high in years to come.

  5. T, just my suggestion, the 1.2mm is actually very flexible. It can fit both manual wind and ETA775x based stem. Manual wind 649x based only has 1.2mm stem. So to fit it to 0.9mm is impossible. Whereas ETA775x comes with 2 stem sizes. 1.2mm and 0,9 mm. on the rep will be ALL 0.9mm for 7750 based.

    I don't mind buying only 1.2mm version./

  6. 3100USD is for the basic model. More search on the net yields more comparable prices. Check out here:

    http://www.amazon.com/EBEL-CHRONOGRAPH-WAT...153&sr=8-13

There are other retailers (non online) that sell this watch at 60% off too.

I still think that it's no problem reading from this this watch. The chronograph reading needs some time to get used to it. Running second hand is actually concealed at 9 o clock position.
