Kinda agree, but an another hand, it's not like someone will call you about the Regulator part of this rep
-
I will do this quick since it's a fantasy Rep. There's no JLC equivalent to this one.. but still, this rep design is near perfection.
This replica use a tourbillon made by Seagull. It'd fairly well build and reliable. The only problem is, if you ever have a problem, you will have an hard time finding a watchmisth with the skill/competence to repair this. I remember few year ago when Tourby started to show up (at over $1k a piece.. and it wasn't near as nice as those we have today) Narikaa had one broke on him. He found a small shop near him able to repair it for like $7.. So, I guess if anything goes wrong, there's someone somewhere that can fix this movement.
While most Tourbillon rep as small, being 38-39mm wide, this one is 43mm and wear nicely due to the dial using most of the front of the watch.
There's 2 version of this watch.. One have a cutout in the black plate to see through the watch, and this one doesn't. Sadly, it look like the see-through version is not available anymore.. A shame, but still great watch.
One of the weakest point of this rep is the strap and the deployment. The strap is what you would expect from a $100 watch, not a $500 rep! This one will have to be change, and while you are at it, change the deployment.
I'm not sure if it's the usual JLC deployment you have on all rep, but this thing feels cheap and is uncomfortable. I will change that too.
Overall, if you want a classy looking tourbillon watch, I think this is one of the best the rep world have to offer. This one have great size, clean dial and good AR (not the best, but certainly double sided and what you would expect from the best rep around).
Beside the cutoff on the back plate, I can't thing of anything that could have been made better on this watch. A keeper for sure!

Here's my very humble review of the Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon.
I'm not used to that, so bare with me. Maybe it will help other making a decision on this watch.
This new watch is full of flaw and it's a bit inevitable. A tourbillon movement is very complex and 2-3 year ago, no one on this forum could have even thought it would be possible to have this kind of replica.

I can't find picture of this model as comparison, but I will use the Batman one (if anyone find one, let me know I will update)
And here's the Rep
Of course, this rep won't win any price for accuracy.
- The Center hands are off center (due to asian tourby movement)
- The dial pastern is wrong. The lower side shouldn't be "circle" but more like "wood texture" They had it correct for the RoseGold version.
- The tourby cage is wrong. They really tried to duplicate it (and frankly, it's impressive!) but it's simply impossible. The cutoff is a bit too big
- The Hublot Tourby "float" over the dial, while the Rep is flush... which lead to the other flaw
- The case is tick! Much ticker than the usuall HBB rep
I use my V1 Black Magic as comparison. Please note, the crystal on this one was AR by Chief.. The rep doesn't do bad in this area!
Quite a bit ticker case!
Side by side, the Tourbi look good.. Really good actually! The AR is one of the best the rep world have to offer.
The claps look the same. I think the edge are a bit better finished than my Blackmagic, but I'm sure in a day or two I will scream about this uncomfortable claps
One note about the strap. Even if it's visually identical to the one my V1 have, it is noticeably softer on the Tourby. No idea what they did, But I find it more comfortable.
Verdict:
If you accept this rep isn't accurate, and will probably will never be, this is a stunning watch!! Such a piece of horlogerie was only dream few years ago for us Rep collector. This is my 3rd Tourbillon watch (First was the "Homer" one, which I sold because it was too small for me, and the second is a JLC which I did a review too today. The Hublot have a presence and a classy/sporty look that is hard to find.
If you like the look of it, buy it! This rep can be found for just a bit more than the usual tourbillon watches (I paid mine $600)
To end, the inevitable Gorilla (7 3/4") wrist shot
- The Center hands are off center (due to asian tourby movement)
-
It's not a real tourbillon. No idea what it is, but it's surely not a real flying tourby.
-
I like the JLC very much, but am confused as to where the Regulateur part of the watch is?
Do we really care? It's a fantasy rep anyway : )
I like the really clean look of it (and price is below some a7750 rep!)
Yes my Tourbi was from Homer. Sad it was so small, it looked great!
And yes Hont is my trusted dealer lately, but many dealer have both watch available.
-
It's not bad in black either.
But I just sold it. 38mm size is way too small for my normal wearing now
I ordered this (not my pics, still waiting for them to arrive)
43mm JLC
44.5 Hublot
Nothing better to fill an open slot in the watchbox with 2 new pieces
-
My name is Eric and I'm a watch addict. Because of Lani, I'm about to loose most of the money I have on the side after a very long 3 months of resistance
My First watch box is full and second don't have much space left, but still, I have to fill them up !
Help!

Holy thread resurrection! My first rep
And the one that doesn't get any wrist time anymore (too many watch !)
-
Thanks for this review
Looks like they did it quite well for once..
Mooooooooonwatch now !
-
I'v sent $60 but haven't seen any naked woman... Scam
-
in 45mm, this is my grail watch.. Really wish the rep was that size..
Will have to wait and pray or get the gen at insane price one day.
-
I think I read somewhere that it's a Gorilla Strap from Vanilla Gorilla.
The combination really does look beautiful!!
yup it's from him.. $60 for custom build quality strap.. hard to beat !
-
or you just grab one of davidsens pvds. They are pretty nice.
x2 Davidsen pvd case are the best.
-
bring me the 45mm version and I buy.
Better price would also help (damn it's overpriced for a (good) Seagull movement! those reps was under $250 for years.)
-
The price/performance one I have found is this one.
What do you think?
I have that one.. got it on ebay for about $40 shipped.
Work great for the price.. You only have a cycle of 3 minutes, but I usually do it twice.
-
That was quite a find,
LOL what I was meaning was , what Model do you think the case back was for? I cant see the numbers I was wondering if iy was just a 111H PVD'd or something else
looks great what ever it is
ST4
Haha. I don't know.. I'm not really a Panerai freek. (more an Omega guy )
Engraving on the back:
F2052/4000 OP6567 BB1082301
Might be one for 111h, but I sold mine few weeks ago, so I can't compare.
-
After 2 weeks with an UPO (boy this thing was hard to remove from my wrist) I go with my latest project:
-
Can I ask where the case back is from
I have no idea
A member was selling parts few months ago and I saw this PVD caseback. Knowing I was going for this project, I got it (for about $10 shipped )
I don't know who made it or where it come from.
and what is it for??To protect the movement.. Don't wear you watch without a case back.. Even more if it's automatic, the rotor get in the hair of the arm and it stop working
Sorry, I don't understand your question
Thanks to all for your comments!
-
cool looking watch you have there...I came across that PVD mvt as well on German e-bay...I have posted that info on the forum as well...so how is the PVD finishing on the mvt? is it real PVD? or something else...
Thanks in advance for the answers...
Look like real PVD yes.. it's plated everywhere (under parts, side etc.) I think it's good quality, but the finish before the coating isn't the best. So.. you get what you pay for.. this is an $120 Asian movement.. Can't have everything (better quality will run for $300 ++)
-
Some fine sandpaper and a blow torch will get it taken care of...just remember to remove the gears first.
RG
haha ok.. I have few extra 6497 and parts here.. might give it a try!
Thanks

Looks great.
I would polish the winding wheels and blue them, that would look much better.
RG
Thanks for the comments.
Sadly I don't have the skill nor the tools to do that. yet...
-
...and here I was giving you all the credit when all you did was Snipe some other poor sucker.
haha I'm lazy.. really lazy
There is noone that work in watch in a 300km radius, hard to find that kind of service.
-
That looks great. Where does one go to find somebody who can PVD stuff? What's the proper search in a phone book??
Ebay !
Got it from a German guy.. It's asian, but price was really good. Good quality (I striped it completely, cleaned and serviced it) it was already oiled correctly in most place.
Only problem was the hour wheel. Too thin for the H3 pinion (so I took one for another movement)
Thanks for comments

This is my latest project.
Mostly Davidsen Parts.
PVD Movement
Gorilla Strap
I don't like the wheels on the movement. Would have to try to polish them or find some better.
Let me know what you think !

Really nice watch. I have the white dial version, very classy and not too small for a tourby watch
