  1. I have made a couple of these on 2 watches, I too think the dremel method would seem the best way. Depending on how deep it is, quite a bit of metal would have to be removed for it to blend in with the rest of the case.
  2. It uses the standard case and bracelet commonly found on the asian 21J SMP's. From what I can see the case is really good minus the HE valve. The dial has good wave pattern. Swap the movement out for the high beat DG4813, the datefont on that is more closer to ETA than this one. Change the bracelet to a better one and then you have a really good rep on your hands, not to mention for a good price.
  3. Manuel please get in touch with me, its regarding your MBK Nautilus. Your inbox is full. thanks.
  4. Glad you guys enjoyed it I learnt many wonderful things about Rolex in that particular article, and a whole lot more in that blog. I had no idea that Winston Churchill was gifted a Rolex from Rolex themselves I swear after reading this article, I felt like selling all my reps and getting that one special grail watch and wear it for the rest of my days
  5. Hey everyone. I came across this wonderful article written by a blog owner who is a Rolex enthusiast. I found it to be an enjoyable read and very interesting. You also get to see the famous Eisenhower Datejust and the Lyndon Johnson Rolex Day-Date Absolutely fantastic! The History of The Rolex President
  6. All the reps which are kept in my collection are for long term use, not for show or 'a bit of fun'. My grail automatic watch, the MBK Nautilus will definitely be regularly serviced and I intend for it to last many many years. Any others which are in my definite collection, I will get a new movement when the currrent craps out, and either install it myself (I'm practicing) or have it installed. I like this method of collecting as it ensures I will enjoy all my watches (as I'm only going to keep the ones that get regular wrist time) and keep the collection nice and compact. Not to mention the amount of money I will save. Some folks on here have got money to burn literally, buying reps left right and centre
  7. Hmm, thats interesting TJ. I was watching a program on the Discovery channel, called 'Most Evil'. That particular episode was featured on violent sex offenders/killers. Some of these convicted killers, chose to have be castrated because they decided it was the only way these violent sexual urges would stop. There seemed to be scientific evidence supporting that theory. However as you said, this has the opposite effect on some people, and makes them more violent. A more harsher punishment then seems to be called for..
  8. I was talking more along the terms of a rapist having his willy chopped off. I think that should stop quite a few would be rapists, child sex offenders etc. from commiting such crimes
  9. Awesome photos guys. Though I love all types of watches of all sizes, I primarily collect black dialed steel watches focusing on the more dressy/casual range rather than hardcore sport watches. I do feel however that I tend to always go back to my smaller sized watches more often, as I feel they suit my 6.5 inch wrists a lot more than the larger watches I've owned, such as PAMs, HBB, APROO etc. Heres a few shots: Gen Rado Integral - I believe the size is 27x32: The legendary Nautilus: Datejust: Another Datejust: AP RO Chrono: And this is what a PAM looks like on my wrist :
  10. Dani, I'm with you on the harsher sentences. In fact, the justice system as a whole needs to be increased in strictness many fold, that will make people think again about comitting crimes.
  11. Lovely photos of a legendary pair of watches. I'm also interested to know what Freddy wants to know
  12. Hey ck24, the term "TW Best" stands for Taiwan Best. These are watches that were apparantly made in Taiwan (I can't guarantee that as fact) and were sold by various dealers, the two best known was a legendary dealer named Eddie Lee and the other is River. River is still trading however Eddie Lee is not. These TW Best models, are known for their legendary quality. Though not all of them were accurate in terms of look, their quality in terms of build and fit and finish was superior to most other reps available, many have said that they 'feel' just like their gen counterparts. The MBW/MBK watches are sold from a store in Bangkok,Thailand called MBK watches or something like that. These MBK watches, and the TW Best Rolex watches share the same manufacturer They are known for their exceptional build quality and many of them are known to accept gen parts. EuroTimez is a dealer who stocks MBK watches, he is able to get them easily because he is based in Thailand. There various other dealers who sell MBK watches because they travel to Thailand frequently to fulfill orders for clients.
  13. The absolute best ones IMO are the TW Best versions (the same manufacturer who makes the MBK/MBW watches). I've owned several Datejusts all of varying quality, and as Fakemaster pointed out, they are all good, but the TW Best ones use the best materials and their fit and finish is superior to the CN ones. The quality on the finish of the steel is better, I also suspect they might be using a higher grade steel, but that could just be because of the finish. Their sapphire crystals are thick and raised exactly like the gen Rolex Datejusts/Day-Dates. They also have the best dials I have ever seen, all the fonts on the dial is spot on.
  14. Usher is also another artist on the rap/hip-hop & RnB scene who sports Audemars. Here's a pic of him doing a 'Maradona' an APROO on each wrist: And here he is wearing a APROO 'Juan Pablo Montoya" An article on his collection of 40 watches worth about $3 million. Daily Mail article on Usher's watch collection
  15. The questions you asked can't be answered in this thread, too much to talk about. There are no reps which are 1:1, some are better than others but in many ways. By this I mean, some are more accurate than others in terms of look. Some are not accurate in terms of look replication, but the build quality is superior than other reps. So it all boils down to what you are looking for, and what flaws you can live with. Personally, I don't care much about how close a rep is to the gen in the look. I am concerned with build quality.
  16. Go for it. The quartz version will not only save you money immediately, but will also prove to be more reliable, accurate time keeping, and less costs in maintenance. If the movement craps out, just get a replacement which are dirt cheap. With the A7750, you are going to have expensive servicing costs, and thats if you can find a watchmaker who has the skill to be able to service it.
  17. I don't think this one is available in the DG2813 movement, or any other low beat movement, because I think there is an issue with the hand sizes. The only asian movement it comes in as far as I know is the asian ETA clone movement, which beats at 28.8 K
  18. Welcome to the forum! Couldnt have said it any better ^^^^^^^^^^ This hobby requires patience and time and lots of reasearch There are so many models of HBB out there on the market, and I believe there are 2 main 'makers' of factories of the high end models of this brand. You need to thoroughly research these differences and then decide which ones you can live with the most, and then opt for that particular model.
  19. Woah Freddy333, I wouldn't have thought you like it, in fact I think most on this board would hate it Rado, it seems to me is not really liked on the boards, and have a niche following. Or so it seems to me anyway. However, from the community I am from (back in the old country) Rado is the 'Rolex', the most desirable brand watch to have. I guess its because Rado are popular in Asia and the Middle East.
  20. Thanks for the input Emuozz and Ubiquitous. As Ubi mentioned, there are differences between MBK Nautilus's. Here is the link to the excellent review and comparison by Manuel: A Tale of Two Nautilus Check out the pic of the cases: Both are MBW, but you can see the newer one on the top has thicker lugs, and slightly different shaped. The earlier ones had thinner lugs. Ubi has also mentioned that he's even seen some which uses screws to connect the bracelet to the lugs, not pins.
