  1. It is available, I am sure it is. I have also been looking for that one as it seems to have a much better bracelet than the standard SMP, I've got people looking for it for me
  2. Longshot if you're ever thinking of selling any of your seiko divers, do let me know
  3. Yes any oil can be used. I've used vegetable oil and olive oil (smell might be unpleasant to some) but it did the job.
  4. Thats a lot of watch for $100, one of the most accurate made to date.
  5. Marvel would kill DC any day!
  6. I think you misunderstood me, I had no intentions of "rip $hit" into you. I was just stating the fact that I have had no problems with cqout, other members of this board can read it so they can see my opinion. It wasn't aimed directly at you. I encourage other members here to share their experiences with cqout. YOU are advising people to stay away because YOU had a bad experience...
  7. Thanks for the answers so far guys. Interesting info, I had a good idea that sweat is one of the main enemies to leather straps. I am assuming that you apply the leather conditioners on the underside of the strap? There are also products out there which when applied to the exposed part of the strap add shine/color to it, is that correct?
  8. I've had no problems whatsoever with Cqout. In fact their sign-up process is more secure as it helps reduce deadbeat bidders, and as TeeJay pointed out, if a seller receives too many negatives, they're OUT.
  9. Having been an only-steel watch guy, I recently purchased my first 'proper' strap for my 111h, it's a gen croc from Panatime. Insane quality for the price I must say. My knowledge on leather/exotic straps and strap care is next to nothing, so I have a couple of questions and was hoping fellow members can help me out a little 1)How long do your leather/exotic straps usually last? I read an article which said that no matter how well you take care of your straps, they will need to be replaced within a year or so with regular use. Also a deployant buckle will significantly increase life in a leather straps because it reduces the tugging and pulling when taking off a watch and putting it back on. 2)Strap hygiene - how do you clean your straps? Of course after regular wear the straps will subject to all kinds of nasty things like perspiration, water (rain) and so forth. Can fellow members give me any tips on how to increase the longetivity of my strap and to keep it clean? Thanks.
  10. I think it's a pretty sharp looking watch to be honest. Its all down to personal taste, for instance there are some watches that members rave on about here which look like 'just another watch' in my eyes I can't say I'm a fan at all of those slim, 'elegant' leather strapped, old men's dress watches But each to his own.
  11. This guy is selling the popular asian 21J SMP otherwise known as the WBK SMP on the bay! It's gone past $500 for a cheap asian 21J watch which retails usually for no more than $100 Item no: 330231283838
  12. Loads of nice watches posted here so far Keep it up guys! For me, beater as usual
  13. Unless you're going to be spending a lot of time with people who are watch enthusiasts (who happen to know their Panerai), I think its safe to say that it will pass as a gen to 99% of people out there It won't be questioned also because Panerai is a brand which many aren't familiar with.
  14. I'm not very impressed with this model, I think the HBB looks a lot better than this one. I can definitely see the similarities between this one and the YM, the bezel says it all.
  15. Wasn't someone saying that if they make a good seconds at 12, then they will have sorted out the seconds at 6 ?
  16. That is a very classy collection. I like looking at member's rep collection who have a taste for a particular brand
  17. Thats the exact same rep I owned. I sold it a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't bad just the bracelets on the asian movement versions irritates me, they're too square and don't have that nice curved shape (much like the girl in my avatar ) found on the Seamaster bracelets. From what I know, the ETA version of that rep isn't made yet, not sure if they will however, the original SMP is still a very popular rep, even though the quality has worsened
  18. I just the placed the order on that panatime I'm sure it will be a lovely strap, its gotten a few positive comments on this thread! It will be my first strap purchased (apart from rubber and steel) and most likely will be my only one
  19. Nice pics, very rugged watch. Something that Arnold might like
  20. Thanks so much for the comments guys, I was also thinking of going for the Panatime It will be my first 'proper' strap! I wear my 111h on rubber most of the time and occasionally steel. It would be nice to have a smart strap however and you just can't beat black croc/gator for that.
  21. So far, the 2 cheapest places I have found for apparantly genuine croc straps is panatime and internationalwatchman. 1)PANATIME - 24mm black croc with white stitching $49.99 2)INTERNATIONALWATCHMAN - 24mm black croc black stitching for PAM $45.00 3)INTERNATIONALWATCHMAN - 24mm black croc regular $35.00 Can anyone give their opinion on which one I should go for for the best quality?
  22. As the title says, I'm looking for a good quality croc/gator strap with white or black stitching for $50 or under. I'm aware there are some online vendors such as panatime who sells bargain straps, but I just want to hear the opinion of strap enthusiasts on where the good quality ones are found. Also, it must be genuine croc/gator, no CALF leather allowed
  23. I know this topic whent a 'little' off-topic and became a discussion on tv's Still I've learnt quite a bit from that so thanks for that input guys What I would like to point out is that we know these ETA reps are most likely not brand new eta movements, they're most probably all sorts of parts fitted together to make the movement, so in other words they're very cheap. Yes I believe that these ETA reps we pay $200 or so for in reality will retail for $60 or even less in the Guangzhou markets. So they cost even less to manufacture, certainly 10 of them pale in comparison to the manufacturing costs of the TV in my original post. I actually own that Sony Bravia I got it from John Lewis when they threw in the PS3 with it as well. I don't know anything about TV's really, but I learnt quite a bit from the posts. I thought it was a proper HD TV? @Chronus: I wish she was my girl She's actually an adult film actress
  24. Would you rather own 10 'high end' reps priced at $200 each or this Sony Bravia 40 inch LCD HD TV with a 5 year warranty? Personally, I wouldn't go for the 10 rep option whose total retail value is really around the $600 rather than the marked up $2000 we would have to pay. What about the rest of you guys?
