  1. Yes it is a sausage dial. I have read from other another members post that base sausage dials are becoming more and more rare.
  2. I've just discovered that I get the same message when I open the links in my firefox browser, however when I used IE, it works properly. If you have IE then please try to download it through there. I am assuming it has something to do with java script settings within the firefox browser. EDIT: I found out what the problem was, you have to enable JavaScript within your browser. For Firefox, Select Tools | Options... from the main menu. # Select Content button from the top row of options. # Select "Enable JavaScript."
  3. I've emailed rapidshare to see what can be done about this. Hopefully this can get sorted out as quickly as possible
  4. I don't really like shaving my head with a razor. For me, it takes too long and also theres the annoyance of nicks and cuts. Shaving with electronic razors would just be so much quicker, cleaner and less fuss. I am definitely going to look into purchasing one, I'm on the Argos website right now
  5. Is that handle ivory? If it is then thats the only way I can see why that razor is priced at what it is!!!
  6. Glad to be of help It really is an interesting documentary. I couldn't believe they actually sell replica stuff in malls! I thought it was really low-key. Well actually I think what they do is on display they have generic things, such as non-branded sunglasses, bags, trainers, watches etc. but 'in the back' they have all the replica stuff
  7. I have uploaded the video on my rapidshare server, please check the 'Off Topic' section to view my post for the download links.
  8. After reading the topic on the Fake trade, and having got a copy and viewing it, I decided to upload it to my Rapidshare server, so people can download it utilising the full speed of their internet connection. If you don't have a rapidshare premium account, after downloading a part, you will have to reset your IP address and therefore changing it. You can do this by resetting your router, or if you use a cable modem I am pretty sure if you unplug it and plug it back in after a few seconds, the IP address should change. There are 4 parts, you will need WINRAR to extract the file. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
  9. I just watched it, interesting documentary. I'm now uploading it to my rapidshare server, so pretty soon all of you will be able to download it using your connections full speed
  10. No problem, I'll email him tonight, and get back to you with any news. This dial fits the UPO, is that correct?
  11. I would be glad to help you out Mentalist. I do have one concern however, Silix is a dropshipper, and what if he sends a PO that isn't the same as he is representing on his site?
  12. I agree with Mentalist. Whats the point in spending so much money modding a watch, when after you add up all the money you spent on it, it comes out to the same price as a used gen. Its like spending money on makeup for an ugly girl, no matter how good she looks after she's applied it, you know that behind that makeup is an ugly girl The point I am making is that reps are not constructed the same as gens, workmanship and attention to detail, quality even, these things lack in the rep. This is why I personally would not spend money on modding a watch to make it look as gen as possible, (unless modding is an hobby you enjoy, and you are doing it for the love of doing it, not to make your rep close to the gen).
  13. @old skool: The color of the numbers is more yellow than white, I think the reason it looks more white in the second pic is due to lighting and exposure and my messing around with photoshop This watch was originally sold by Trevor, but he has no stock so I bought it from another member.
  14. Hmm that looks like a pretty rare (and expensive) breed
  15. I think we have to ask ourselves firstly why we buy certain products, is it for the actual use of the product or the image it gives out when others see you wearing/using it. The latter usually is a brand name and usually a 'luxury' product that is overpriced. As TeeJay pointed out, many generic products perform exactly the same function as the branded ones, but the price difference can be staggering. An example of this is Nike trainers. They cost relatively little to produce, I'm not sure of the exact figure but I think its about $10. Then the more popular models are sold with a huge mark-up which simply doesn't justify its price. An alternate pair of trainers or 'kicks' will perform the exact same function and cost a lot less. The price difference is not for a higher quality product, but purely for brand name. This exists in even Nike's own line of trainers. Take the Air Force One line of trainers for example, some models will cost A LOT more than others because they are 'limited editions', there is no actual difference in quality between this limited edition and the more lower priced one. In the electronics industry I have personally found that brands such as Sony and Panasonic (which like TeeJay, most of the electronics in my house is manufactured by them) produce higher quality products than the cheaper electronics brands. My father does try to save money where he can however. The Playstation One was bought probably 2 years after it was released, the same with the Playstation 2. We recently bought the PS3 but it was part of an offer that John Lewis were promoting, it came free with a Sony LCD Television Is Panerai overpriced? In my opinion, yes it is. It is a luxury brand watch, which inflates its price. Most people who buy it won't use it for diving purposes (the original purpose for it being manufactured for the Marina Militaire). You can't say you are buying a Panerai for telling the time because you can buy a $10 quartz watch for that purpose. Can a Hermes handbag made from leather really justify its cost of $10,000? Its a friggin' handbag, women put their 'stuff' inside it, thats its function Watches costing as much as Ferraris is just insane, I don't care what it does for that kind of price, but in my opinion that price is just insane, even if it does perform fellatio whenever you want it to
  16. I would go for either a Panerai, Omega or a Breitling for the first rep.
  17. ajoesmith did a PVD application on a 183, do a search and see if he posted some wrist shots.
  18. Welcome to the board! I'm also from London, been collecting for 6 months now and must say this is one of the best boards I've ever visited. Lots of friendly people here, I'm sure you will learn a lot here and make friends as well
  19. @By-Tor: Are those polished middle links picking up scratches easily?
  20. Thanks Subfrog! I decided to go for this one because I didn't want to fork out $400 for a DSN 202/A, the look of the 009 is close enough for me Yes I think we do share similar taste for watches, especially since I now have a craving for a Yachtie and will be getting one soon.
  21. If you want a YM with a second hand that sweeps like the gen you have to get one with an ETA movement, either an Asian copy or a true Swiss ETA movement.
  22. I've been trying to source this one for a while now ever since I saw the screenshots of Stallone and his 202/a . Trevor said he was completely out of stock and that it wasn't likely that he would be getting any more in. So I posted wanted ads on the forums and luckily, a member on repgeek got back to me that his wasn't getting any wrist time and so asked if I wanted to buy it. I jumped at the offer and in only 4 days from Canada to the UK, here it is. I must say I'm definitely impressed with this watch. The PVD especially with the base dial is a killer combo. The only down side to the watch is that the numbers have extremely weak lume, however its nothing to cry about and I can always get it superlumed should I want to in the future.
