  1. Question for everybody! Not sure if this is the right place for this. But, Does anybody know of a place in Boston/ surrounding area that does overhauls/repairs/reconditioning services on our rep watches... either that or somebody on the forum that would send out to do this service? I already messaged Zimeister and he doesn't want to do this kind of work. Help!

  2. I am having a few problems with mine too.. but not with the chrono... the power runs out, even when i am wearing it, so i have to wind it by hand every other day. Its almost like I have a 111 hand wound movement... sucks. I am not sure what I am going to do about it. by the time I discovered it, it had already been a few weeks.

  3. Hey there fellow Pam lovers! I just ordered a Pam 251 with the new movement from Joshua and have been wearing it for about a week and I have noticed that the power reserve is really low. I have been wearing the watch all day everyday and it runs out after a few days and I have to wind it again manually. Its almost as if the rotor is not charging the watch like it should. has anybody else had this problem with this batch of watches or with other watches in the past? And what did you do to fix it?

  4. You are totally correct

The CG is perfectly made - but there is too much pressure upwards from the crown on the lever which pushes it out

I replaced the flat rubber gasket on the underside of the crown with an o-ring and replaced the lever gasket with a harder nylon insert.

This has solved the majority of the issue but still think that either the stem or the caseside crown tube are 0.1mm too long.

I don't thinkt this is a flaw in the watch as the parts are perfectly made , more a case of less than perfect attention to detail on assembly - which is to be expected on any production line.

It's all minor mods if you do it yourself or get a watchsmith to do for you , certainly not a show stopper for a watch of this overall quality

The question for me is if they charged $420 for this watch and solved the CG issue as above , what would we find to talk about !!!

    Cheers

    FGD

FGD, it looks like your made some modifications to your pam. Would be willing to do a quick tutorial for the members and show us what you did. I am sure a lot people will be buying this watch and will want to do the samething to reduce how much the level sticks out from the cg.

  5. Hey there all! Since there has been a lot of talk here about the increased accuracy of the Pam 196,236 dial, date font, etc. What do you all think of the 251. I was on joshua's page and it looks like all three were revamped. Just wanted to see if anybody had bought this watch and would like to see some wristies of a white PAM and all your wonderful opinion. I am going to buy one of these three but haven't decided on which one. I don't think I have ever owned a white faced watch. Looking forward to hear all your wonderful comments.

  6. No dealer will disclose his sources to you so you can buy there at half price and then possibly pass on the information to all on the internet... :bangin:

The one and only MBW/MBK watch shop is located in MBK shopping center on the ground floor (not on 3rd with all the other watch shops). Enter on ground floor main entrance and turn left. Look for a sign that says "Nah-Piek". You will find some good reps there, APRO Jumbo, Patek Nautilus and vintage Rolex.

    Have fun, Leon

Is this in Bangkok? Is there an address? You are probably right, If I were one of the dealers I wouldn't give away my sources either.

  7. Thanks for your reply everybody! I was born near Manila! I should go back but probably not for this trip. That's a great idea I should meet up with narika and see if i can see some real places. I have heard that the touristy ones have expensive low quality reps. But there has to be a place where the good reps are! I will send a PM to narika! Any other suggestions for places that are a must see, rep related or not.

  8. Hello everybody!

I was heading over to Thailand and because we are a part of such an international community here I figured I would ask all of you where I should go to find the watch markets! I hear bangkok has some such markets. But I aldo hear that there are some bad reps over there too. Perhaps some of you live near there or have visited. While I am over there perhaps I will make some purchases for the right price! Thanks for all the help everybody!

  9. I remember reading a specific article on the forum a while back that used I brand of bike chain wax or something like it to clean out and lubricate a sub to make the bracelet move better. I tried searching for it but came up with nothing. I found a lot of articles where people used different lubricants but I was looking for this particular one. Does anybody know the article I am referring to?
