Great Success!

Thanks, but unfortunately I'm in California. I did send Vaclume an email but I know he's swamped with mod requests.

So after doing without any reps for a while; I picked up a nice PAM (a Perfect Clone watch via member sale ) that I wore and enjoyed for a couple of days before it died.
I opened up the back and found a loose screw: the blue one just to the right of the balance wheel. The plate was loose to the touch and the toothed wheel it holds in place had a broken shaft and was floating free. Sorry I don't know the correct terms for these parts; but the broken bit is a toothed wheel located under a brass gear and the balance wheel.
Any ideas where I could get this thing fixed without breaking the bank? I could probably replace it myself, but I don't think the broken shaft can be removed from the jewel without further disassembly; plus where would you get the part?
Anyway it wouldn't hurt for you to check the screws in your PAMs.

If there's any doubt, there is no doubt. It's good to go with a watch proportionate to your wrist and hand size, but a clearly oversized dial crosses over into pure look-at-me territory.

Poker anyone? It helps to have a royal flush up your sleeve.

Just a heads up for members in the NYC area:
No Rolex or PP, and usually no Panerai either, but you can get a nice new Breitling or Omega for half off retail if you show up early. You get the 1-year Tourneau warranty but not the manufacturer's.

What we really need is a replica of that clipboard..can you imagine...that is something i would pay 300 dollars for just to crack it out during parties..hey check out my clipboard.
It looks like you can wear around your neck with the lanyard, then just sit back and let the ladies flock to you.
About the watch though--I couldn't resist it. Maybe it will fit under my shirt cuff? Or I can strap it to the dash of my new P1800 "Saint" somehow?

Well, there's always this thing:

I never paid much attention to Chronoswiss, but this unusual model caught my eye:
(I'm sure the rep gets the lume wrong on this one.)
I always liked the distinctive Chronoswiss onion crown, but thought it was a bit out of proportion to the case. You don't have that problem with this behemoth of a watch from Basel 2008:
I thought it was a display only piece, but apparently they will be for sale at 12,000 euros. While ridiculous, it immediately calls to mind the vintage dash-mounted Heuer rally timers.
It might be kind of cool and functional for vintage racing, but where else could you wear something like this?

eeeerrrr false!
False in what way? That might be one of the douchiest photos ever taken, but it's the best one I've seen that shows how the Safari appears in person. The black/white rep is a good example of a watch made from internet photos and brochures.

My cloths just got here, I'm going to shine up my Skyland and 112 tonight. Anyone used them on solid platinum?

Amongst the angry young left-coast set; it's suddenly acceptable to be pro-USA. Wonder how long that will last.
It doesn't matter to me what color the dude (or chick) in charge is, but hopefully we are one step closer to it not mattering to most people. Racism is incredibly boring.

Last night a DJ saved my life.

Reminds me of this Steinhausen Beethoven disaster:

If you do a google search for "panerai travel clock replica", dozens of the cheesy scam sites are selling a rep (with gen photos) for around $245. This means that there probably IS a cheap rep of this clock out there, only a matter of time before it shows up at one of the trusted shops with some legit photos.
Something for our friends in China to look out for.
-
I bought a cheap version of this watch from a fellow member recently and already I receive many compliments. Hopefully the factory will make a super rep for this watch soon.
That was me. It couldn't replace my UPO, but the dial is much "blacker" and the red really pops--it's a striking watch in person.

Doc -RG's issues aside, your statement regarding "scammers" is exactly how internet legends and myths are started. By making that statement in this thread you seem to be implying that WM9 is a scammer. Maybe you meant to, maybe you did not, but think about the context of your statement in this thread and then think about the guy who started this thread.
Some guy, with absolutely no established reputation, thinks he is "on" to something, posts his "evidence" (Of what, I am not really sure) and the next thing you know, people are saying I heard from someone, who heard from someone, who heard from someone, so and so is a "scammer"...
The whole WM9 is a scammer, WM9 doesn't use real gold, WM9 sells the same Rep you can get for cheaper at a way higher price etc etc etc has seen plenty of double digit page threads here at RWG. Any one of the people around here with a long standing history will tell you that all though many don't agree with WM9 and his prices - a scammer he is not.
Clearly someone here is trying to start some sh!t and a simple search of WM9 can and will reveal the truth. There is nothing new here to "watch" (hey that was a pretty good pun he he he he) as it has all been gone over before.
Ask someone like BK who knows WM9 or better yet, if you are someone who wants to know - email George yourself, don't take my word or anyone else's for that matter. I think you will find George will try and answer your questions honestly and thoroughly.
I really can't see how anyone can take this clown seriously...
I don't know or care about WM9's watches or prices, but if someone sells you gold and it turns out to be NOT gold, you got scammed.
Why defend George in this case? He was clearly leading his customers to believe they were getting real gold and profiting from that lie. Definition of a scammer.
I'm sure he's a nice guy like you say; maybe he'll be really nice and refund everybody the price difference.

What's wrong with the admin at RG?
I was just booted from there for making a second post which simply said check out RWI and RWG for a telling post about the wm9 gold watches before you make a purchase.
I did not post any links what so ever and I only said I'm still not sure as to why my original post was deleted.
RG is a cool forum, but reporting scammers there is like getting your news from Sesame Street.

It's deeply flawed as a rep, but still a lot of fun to wear. Guilty pleasure.
-
+1 on this, RWG legend CBR has some wristshots of his little man sporting one and it looks great.
I know it's a fantasy watch, and who would give a little kid a Rolex anyway, but I still think it's cool.
Reps don't make very good heirlooms, so my only other suggestion would be something sporty, quartz, and not too pricey in the gen version. Maybe a Tag Professional Sports.
-
Which dealer? The first move would be to let them know what happened and see what they'll do about it--if it was me I would push for a discount on my next purchase and get it fixed locally.
Like Hyster said, now's a good time for a relume, double AR, or other mods. If it's a UPO maybe you can still order a dial from Silix with the correct logo while you're at it, I think they're $35 or so.

Kinda like putting a rice rocket wing spoiler on a DBS.
-
Bah. If they had any sense they would stop wasting time on these Crayola watches and do a safari with the proper dial colors.

The inserts DO pop out, especially in water. The crowns strip frequently. My PO's have been my most troublesome watches.
I guess I've been lucky with my crown, but I heard they were easy to strip and I've always been careful to make sure mine was properly seated before I tightened it. It also helps that I only had to unscrew it a few times in the past year--the watch keeps great time!
As for the bezel, I didn't know there was a problem. If mine ever falls off that will be a perfect excuse to mod one from Ofrei to fit.

Got bumped in stop-and-go freeway traffic while on a motorcycle, and among the casualties were the bezel and crystal of my brand new rep. Worth fixing, or just sell for parts?
