  1. If the winner is not already an RWG supporter, would they earn supporter status by placing the winning bid?
  2. What's there to reply to? This isn't really something for the community to vote on. And is it really so hard to believe that he made threats? From what I've seen, he usually started tossing threats of one form or another into the second round of insults with whoever he was disagreeing with at the moment (even customers, the poor saps) and that was in public forum posts. I can only imagine what he would say in the privacy of an email.
  3. Top of the page, right hand side, where it says "Links". Here: Dealer Websites
  4. Is this the new one? Hard to tell from the photos. http://www.pam111.com/product_info.php?products_id=2271 The letters on the underside near the buckle are different from the Silix version, 64 GAE instead of b4 HAF. I have no idea what they are supposed to be though.
  5. I finally finished watching season 1 (in HD ), it's pretty short without the commercials. I did fall asleep a few times, usually while watching Lena Headey give her signature pained/tough/constipated stare. I guess the main appeal of the original movie was the unique scenario, there really isn't enough intelligent plot left over to draw you into the characters and their plight.
  6. "...you have the power." If this watch ships from Sacramento, California I will eat a balut.
  7. I remember reading somewhere that Chinese customs has the same rule, no watches allowed. Probably why returning them is so hit-or-miss.
  8. I took a couple of cameraphone shots to show the box.
  9. I did like it, but I never wore it! So, this exact watch is up for auction, proceeds go to RWG. I can't quite take pics like Pix, plus my lady has absconded with the camera.
  10. Of course...shall we say Sunday at midnight Pacific Time? Should be plenty of time.
  11. Pix's great review is what prompted me to buy this, check it out for details since I know my photos are pretty bad. This is the exact same watch. I took off the stickers and wore it for a couple hours, it has been in my watch box ever since. Quartz, working chronograph, running seconds at 6, the inner bezel rotates smoothly. Never sized, would probably fit an 8 3/4" wrist just fine. Comes with a generic style boxset with TAG-Heuer markings. Priority shipping in CONUS is on me; winning bidder donates directly to RWG.
  12. Whoa, I'm a supporter now? Thanks! I feel like I need to do something supportive....
  13. Probably better to just get the gen hands as well. Also, it's a good chance to get the sapphire double AR coated. And if I did a gen dial and hands, I'd want the bezel insert as the final touch.
  14. She looks like a pretty cool chick--nice work there Idaho's finest, we can all sleep better at night now that you cleaned up the streets. I wonder if she smokes it out of a coconut?
  15. I had never even heard of it, after seeing the movie my roomate borrowed the boxset and we watched the series pretty much all at once.
  16. I'm betting he wears a non-limited edition black SMP in addition to the Planet Ocean Big Size, then they release a Quantum of Solace PO. Omega really cashed in on Casino Royale, I'm sure they will want to do it again with two LE watches (if you call those huge editions limited) plus bonus sales of non-007 watches to people who don't like the dumb logos but like Bond memorabilia. Edition size: 10007 x retail price $3700=$37025900 for the ugly "spiral" SMP Edition size 5007 x retail price $3900=$19527300 for the Casino Royale PO Total retail on Bond branded merch: $56,553,200 Of course they pay some royalties and there was some markdown, but that's still a pretty healthy figure.
  17. T, It's a sad world sometimes, but you as a father and husband are absolutely critical to your family's wellbeing. Speaking from my own experience, when my life seems futile and nothing brings me happiness, my mind goes to my own sons and what I would want for them when they are older. The answer is I'm not sure, but I know it has to be better than what I have, and the only way I can make it so is to stick around. Despair eats at all intelligent men at some point or another, and we show our true worth by making it through intact. Your wife can give you love and support, your children can melt your heart with a glance, but only you can turn your life in the right direction and just keep pushing yourself to improve. Some may find your decision to air your troubles online odd, but I think it can help at times when you can't bring yourself to open up to your "real life" friends; there is a flood of kind thoughts, prayers, and encouragement headed your way. I hope it does you some good. Email me or call ANY time if you want to talk--about kids, women, autism, watches, anything but sports and politics.
  18. I love leather and the thicker than average straps are nice, but some of those wristshots look downright cartoonish.
  19. T, It's encouraging to hear you counting your blessings and working towards the future. Please give your wife and son the full benefit of your life and mind--the alcohol and meds might get you through the pain but I'm sure you know where it leads in the end. I turned to alcohol myself once, I stopped going to work and basically dropped out of life. It took a huge effort for me to leave that part of my life behind and move on. My boys were diagnosed with autism in '96 and '98; my ex was already suffering from bipolar disorder and the situation with the kids didn't help it much. I know it must suck pretty intensely to have your work attacked, but in the past you have fought it in a very postitive way with your "respect sale." I'm sure that for every person complaining there are ten that are happily wearing their watches, that's just the nature of customer feedback. Try not to let it bother you so much, if you delivered every order in record time you would still get complaints. Just want you to know that you do have people rooting for you.
  20. You dont have to take the buckle off, just slide them over it. I didn't have enought tail to use both keepers so I did just that.
  21. Cool! You should have taken out his white socks though.
  22. I think it's a great looking watch for the money, as far as I know the gen only comes in white although the fantasy reps with silver and champagne dials look nice. The lettering on the clasp is not supposed to be blackened (the paint can be removed) and the "1000 MIGLIA" imprint on the crown is backwards (on the Asian version). The strap would be the first thing to go--be aware that the lug width is not standard so you will probably have a small gap when you replace it.
  23. The combination of the thick strap, thick keeper, and thick buckle does look like a bit much in that last photo. You might be a little happier with a thinner model from Strap Culture, like mine; the buckle is much thinner. I didn't get a wrist shot of the buckle, but the leather thickness seemed perfect, at least for a 127. 127E on Strap Culture
