I have been looking for cases to keep my "project" oriented mind in check. On the bay I noticed a series of cases that looked promising. Ordered one with solid case back for $65 dollars shipped. The seller although listed as being in the US shipped from HK. Took 11 days to get home. I started working on it right away. I had a DSN newborn 202 dial laying around and some FG hands as well as a regulated 6497-1 Asian movement. A few rounds of the file to get the stock CG(that came with the case kit) to get the click to snap. Some Dremel time on the case to make it sit flush and overall not too bad. The case has good dimensions and needs some softening all around The bezel has a nice shape to it and even the "S" reflection that Ale has covered next door Could use a better CG and crystal as the crystal on it is obviously not 1:1 sapphire as advertised. 1:1 Sapphire would have a pinkish hue to it. The sold case back is not bad at all, and provides a good seal to the case I tested without too many mods to 4ATM and until I figure out if I am keeping or selling it, I won't test further. Pictures This shoulder needs a file and polish End result thus far. Slapped on a 26mm Accordion dive strap that I trimmed to 24mm because I like it like that. Not too bad. Still wonder if I should keep it. Overall, for the price of the case and having a few parts in the bin it is not a bad case to get it you are looking for a quick build, perhaps even a better that looks decent.
Made a thicker crown gasket for the case. Now there is an assuring and definitely firm click. Not fingernail bending, but enough to ensure that the case is now passing the 5ATM pressure test. Re-profiling the lug shoulders and then will re-polish it. Overall the case has great potential for custom/fantasy as well as gen like builds.
Case reshaping done. I like the overall look. Now to the polishing. Part of me wants to just brush the case and call it good and leave the bezel polished. We shall see. Not much to do to it really, but clean some of the corners and take a little off the edges.
