Thought I should share because they are beautiful I hope you enjoyed this beauty
  14. Hi guys, Today I'm showing you something different. A genuine vintage Seiko 5. I have researched some interesting facts about this watch (thank you internet!) Why I bought this watch? A while ago I was at my work and by coincidence my appointment had a Seiko 5 on his wrist. What a beauty, he told me that he's wearing his watch for over 40 years and the only thing he had to replace was the bracelet. The movement is running smooth for all that time! Why is it called the "Five/5"? From the very start, Seiko 5 was created to be a watch whose performance would serve in demanding needs of the new 1960's generation, who cared less for tradition and more about life. The watch had five key attributes: 1. Automatic winding 2. Day/date displayed in a single window 3. Water resistance 4. Recessed crown at the 4 o'clock position 5. Durable case and bracelet Because it grew out of the watch itself, the name Seiko 5 was deemed to express what made Seiko great and was chosen. A simple and memorable name for a simple but serious watch. Some details about Seiko 5: - It is 37mm wide and 11mm thick - The day is changed by pushing the crown in - The day is bi-lingual. That means it is in both English and German, with e.g. the German version being jumped over at every change - A Seiko serial number tells one the year and month of production: the first digit shows the year (without the decade) and the second shows the month. The decade needs to be found out from other indicators - It has metal day and date rings. The rings in the Seiko 5's where plastic after around 1990. This helped me work out the decade of production - The model number stamped on the watch back is in the form XXXX-YYY where XXXX is the caliber and YYYY denotes the watch body. For this watch it's 7009-876A - It has a caliber 7009 day/date movement, 17 jewels, 21600 Bph. According to the sources I found, this movement was used in Seiko 5s from 1980 until it was replaced by the 7S26 in the late 80s. This nailed down the decade and let me deduce the exact month of production - The watch I own was produced in May 1983 - Under the 6 on the watch face (Very small) are two numbers: XXXX (left) and ZZ ZZ Z Z (right). Again, XXXX indicates the caliber whereas ZZ ZZ Z Z denotes the watch face itself. For this watch it is 7009 and 21 44 R 2. The movement, 7009A: This movement is one of the most produced Japanese movements, which was for example and mainly used in the legendary "Seiko 5", until it was replaced in the late 80s by it's successor, the caliber 7S26. The 17 jewel equipped movement is pretty simple but efficiently constructed. It cannot be hand wound, but on the other hand, it uses a rather elaborated executer mechanism like for example IWC uses in may of their own movements. The 7009A uses all possible indications, hour, minute, second and day and weekday. An interesting detail is, that the day is advanced by turning the crown in it's second position, but the weekday is advanced by pressing the crown in position one. 7009A movement facts: Manufacturer: Seiko Caliber: 7009A Numbers of Jewels: 17 Escapement: Anchor with pallets Balance: Glucydur Shock protection(s): Diashock (Seiko) Balance direction: counterclockwise Hairspring stud: Moveable Regulator Type: Hairspring key Features: SC?, QG, JG, RDR, AUT Functions: Hour, minute, second, day, weekday, self-winding Beats per hour: 21600 \
  15. Hi guys, Today some pictures of my IWC Laureus Ingenieur with genuine leather IWC strap and a IWC Top Gun. The Top Gun runs on a 7750 movement and the Laureus Ingenieur on a 2824 movement. They run very very smooth! The only problem with the IWC Top Gun is the fact that the day is stuck. Let's start with the IWC Laureus Ingenieur I tried to take some good pictures of the rep strap and the genuine strap.. If you see it in real life or you feel it it's just way better. The colour is so much better and of course it's real leather instead of rep leather. Big difference! And of course the wrist shots On to the next one, the IWC Top Gun! And a group shot of my IWC watches. From left to right: IWC Top Gun, IWC Laureus Ingenieur, IWC Portuguese Chronograph 3714 I hope you enjoyed the pictures

  18. Hi guys, Today a watch I won in the Raffle, big shout out to Mike on a Bike and RWG The watch is made using the following, thanks to JMB! - Clone 2824 movement - Yuki dial, sweep hand and hour hand, sub minute hand - Rep Prince Date case with Prince Date engraving removed and proper engraving applied to case back - Rep brushed Oyster bracelet - Clark T22 crystal - Gen-spec bezel - Jules Borel 2mm springbars "This will look a bit different than most other reps as I only used the hour hand from the Yuki hand set and a submariner minute hand. Looking at picture of "verified gens" it seems this is more correct. This is built in a 34mm Prince Date case with a custom bezel, Clark crystal, case-back re-engraved, and Rolex signed Oyster style bracelet. The dial is Yuki and the movement is a "Swiss Military" signed ETA 2846 movement. All of this was put together and lightly/gently aged to make it look believable." Ok, enough said, on to the pictures!
  19. I was browsing through my photobucket earlier and found that I have had quite the collection of watches in my short time here at RWG. I figured it would be fun to put them all together in a single post These are not in any particular order, but the progression of photo quality is pretty funny to me. I will start from the more recent ones to the earlier ones: IWC Portuguese Regulateur This is the watch that originally had me find RWG in the first place. I saw a rep of this back in 2009 in a store in Downtown LA but passed on it. Ever since then I have been wanting one. This particular one is quite unique in that it has been modified. Francisco combined this watch with another IWC F.A. Jones in order to get the more accurate bridge plates. The unique thing about the regulator style watches is the separation of the hour, minute & seconds hand. Each one gets its own register and this arrangement really stands out. I have gotten more compliments on this watch than any other that I own. UPDATE: Just got this back from the Zigmeister. Had it serviced so now it has a 60 hour power reserve. Ziggy also stripped the blue hands so they are now silver as per the gen. Panerai PAM 390 Ti Custom Ordered this one from Josh when he started offering custom H-Factory PAMs. Build consists of a PAM 390 Dial & Hands, PAM 177L Case Set & Case Back, and the beautifully soft PAM 247 Ferretti Strap. Simply a stunning build that I truly believe Panerai should make a gen version of! Vacheron Constantin Overseas Deep Stream This is quite the unique rep. Very accurate, very comfortable and quite stunning to look at. SS case & bracelet and a Titanium Bezel that has been bead blasted. The radial pattern on the slate grey dial is also quite stunning to look at. And the wrist shot: Stølås Harbormaster Spinnaker This is quite a unique piece. First introduced to me when vlydog posted a link to a website called "Bless This Stuff". They had a little preview of it and since, at the time, my birthday was coming up, I decided to go for it. They had a limited run of 125 pieces with an introductory offer and it was quite reasonable. They had a few different options with it, including additional straps and either a nicely engraved case back or a sapphire case back. I opted for all the extra straps and the solid, engraved caseback. It is quite large, same size as my PAM at 44mm. The lume is extraordinary I must say. By far one of the most unique lume applications I have seen yet. Rolex GMT IIc This is quite a unique one. This is a custom BK GMT Iic with a ETA 2893-2 true jump hour GMT movement. This one took a very long time to complete as it was quite difficult to source the green GMT hand that would fit the 2893. Re-lumed by Ziggy and a Chieftang AR'd cyclops installed. IWC Ingenieur Picked this one up from FxrAndy who had it modded. Incredible re-lume by FineDD including luming the small numerals around the inner bezel as per gen. Double AR on the crystal and the Lello date wheel make this piece a true super rep!
