Capt Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 I see some awesome photo's of member's watches, just watches, wrist shots and some with landscape in background. How is it done. My photos are so blurry you can't even tell what kind of watch it is. My camera is 7MP so I should be able to get something. Please help.
tazzman Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 you probably have some kind of close-up function on your camera.. put it on the "flower"-mode and try again I normally use a standard Nikon D40 with UV-filter and with a quick autofix of the colours/contrast in PS and maybe a bit of sharpening..you get pics like this.. - tazz
houndoggie Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Use a place that has nice bright, diffuse natural light (or light box) so that you can turn off the flash. Make sure you are on "Macro" Mode (little flower) and focus properly (your pics are blurry because the focus is on the back ground, not foreground). A nice editing software like picase (free!) will let you edit your pix like a pro. My lightbox from ebay: I use a 6MP point and shoot camera for my wristshots (macro and flash off) and I use a Canon Rebel XT DSLR with a 100mm Macro lens for most everything else... (I only tripod for lume shots) Another trick is use something black to reflect into the crystal (for dark dials with poor or no AR) to eliminate unwanted glare or reflection
