Chanel J12 Clasp Spring Broken

Hagbard

Recommended Posts

My wife has just broken the clasp spring on her beloved 33mm chanel J12. It's the removable piece which holds the clasp closed and 'springs it open; one side has sheared completely off.

Does anyone have this part surplus to requirements, have any cunning way to fix this, or have a source for an equivalent part?

Thank you!

Email your dealer. I'm sure they can sell you a clasp or a whole bracelet. If this is the expensive version, maybe buy a cheaper version just for the clasp. If it is a cheaper one just buy a new watch.

If it is a matter of the clasp separating from the ceramic bracelet, you may want to try some loctite instant mix epoxy. This stuff will glue anything together and hold indefinitely.

Thanks, unless someone has a better idea I'll start emailing dealers shortly.

Fortunately the part that has broken is not directly connected to the ceramic; it's just a piece of sprung steel that spring loads the clasp and keeps it shut. It's actually screwed to the main body of the clasp and is completely removeable - I was rather hoping someone would be able to suggest somewhere that sells either a replacement part for this, or a replacement for the entire clasp.
