Pam 187 Question

Recommended Posts

The PAM 187 has 2 gaskets in the case back and it looks like a good o-ring for the crown.

Can anyone tell me the mechanism that seals the pushers? What does the screw-downs do? Do they seal against a gasket? or is this just decorative?

They lock the buttons down against the case and do make the pushers waterproof on mine. Similar mechanism to the Daytonas. I don't know if there are gaskets there. Somehow I doubt it. :) But they do work. On some versions (perhaps all) the pushers are too long and so when you screw them all the way down you see threads and the Gens are more accurately cut so no threads appear.

So, with o-rings on the pushers, 2 o-rings on the case back and an o-ring at the top of the crown this watch has a pretty good chance of being fully waterproof?

Absolutley - make sure the case back is fully tightened. My Honpo watch came with one of the caseback O rings missing but Ken did supply me with a new one. This baby should be good for a few 00 meters at least!!
