royler_g Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Hi forum I am a newbie here on the forum, but as so many others before me, I got hooked pretty instantly. It wasn't long after I received my first rep, an Omega PO, that I started drooling over other brands. And right now, Panerai seems like my next must-have So, here is the situation: I want to buy a nice Panerai, but I am unsure of which model to choose. I generally prefer the "clean" ones without so much stuff (striped dial, engraved bezel etc.). I would like a watch with as little flaws as possible out of the box, as I don't have any experience with modding. I don't rule out modding, but if I need to do it I would appreciate a couple of pointers. Suggestions? What should I choose? Cost constraint would be around $500. Other tips appreciated! I am looking for a watch that looks close enough to gen that it will survive at least a casual look from someone who knows a little more than nothing about watches. Thanks!! /royler_g
siesta181 Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 If you can stretch your budget a little, go for DSN's 028 or 027 series. I luv my 028A to bits...
AllergyDoc Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 DSN or Super Mirrors on RepGeek. He sells modded PAMs. I got this 127 for $335: The canon pin could have been more flush, but the superlume is great.
