SPARKYMARKY Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 My mushroom / stud has come off my bracelet - the bit that when you close the bracelet goes into the hole where the spring is on the clasp to close the watch. Anyone any suggestions as to the way forward? can you buy just that small bit of the bracelet (its about two cm long) that has the stud on it? - it appears to have pins either end do if i can get a new one with the stud on it can i just replace it???

Anyone any suggestions as to the way forward? can you buy just that small bit of the bracelet (its about two cm long) that has the stud on it? - it appears to have pins either end do if i can get a new one with the stud on it can i just replace it??? This happened to me on my PO Chrono, bought from Joshua, he replaced the bracelet. I searched around a bit on-line and there were no alternatives from OEM aside buying a new bracelet. This is, or at least was, a weak link in the rep Omega bracelets and very common. If the watch is relatively new, and depending on where you sourced, the dealer should consider a return and/or replace. Good luck. ps I did consider drilling out the remaining portion of the mushroom 'rivet', tapping the hole to fit a small SS pan head screw and shaping as necessary to fit the clasp. I'm sure that would have worked, but Joshua was very amenable. If my second bracelet fails I will go this route. Good luck.
Demsey Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Not sure if you are still monitoring this thread SM, but member 'db2' is selling a <genuine clasp and associated parts> in 'trades' that is a steal. Expensive, still (as compared to the price of the rep) but a good way to put your PO 'over the top'......
