krbarnes
Are there any movements that are a direct replacement for an ETA 2836-2? Stem location? Dial feet? Hand size? Any of the DG movements? Just wondering, or if I should hold out for an ETA movement for my cheap sub project.
Guest techlogik
If Rolex, the DG4813 won't, the feet position are different. At least on a DSSD. Maybe the one ETZ sells is different, but the standard DG4813 has the feet placement different. You could have to cut he feet off the dial and use adhesive stickies. The metal plate would provide plenty of service to hold it certainly. The 2824-2 won't either, it is slightly thinner, about 1-2mm, you would need a spacer ring to hold it against the rehaut from the caseback most likely. Maybe the asian 2836 would work straight up though. I haven't actually had one in my hands, so I can't tell you for sure. If you can source it. What are you thinking? You can find used ETAs from around $80 on the bay and around $110-120 new also. Datewheel on the Rolex is a PITA also. But you probably know that already.
