jchurch
A few days ago I purchased a fer014 from a member on RG. I tried it with the strap that was included on the first night I received it (last night) didn't really like it but I think I may try it again tonight after work. Anyhow I put the replica rubber strap and deployment back on it so I could wear it to work today. While wearing it I got to thinking I really like the deployment on it and I don't mind wearing rubber straps I really like the SOSF on the gen rubber. So is there a big difference between the replica rubber on the ferrari line and the genuine? Also are there genuine deployment buckles running around for the ferrari models. I saw someone over on RG is stilling some genuine panerai ones but I don't know if it is really worth the investment if they are going to be the same. I have a problem with one side kind of sticking when I press in both buttons on the deployment. I suspect this wouldn't happen with the genuine but I don't know for sure and the price on the genuine deployments is a little high for resolving that little annoyance. Case back question. While looking at some photographs of genuine ones (trying to see how the deployment was and if it is different then the rep) I noticed nearly all of them had display backs. Are these newer ones with the display back? I had looked at a genuine about a year ago not the 014 but just a basic chronograph and it also had a solid case back. The ones I saw today were 014B models I assume mine is an A because it has FA220/700 on the case back. I found a model with the solid case back and mine looks really close to it. But did the rep ever come with a display case back? I think I prefer the solid back as I think the ability to see the movement would be an easy tell lol.
