I haven't seen (or heard of) Brooklyn's Finest. I thought Shutter Island was good if not a little formulaic. I think DiCaprio is a good actor and well cast but having seen too many movies in this genre, I was not as surprised as I would have liked to have been.

I don't think anyone should got to the movies by themselves even with their new watch. That is just creepy.

If I had to choose though I would say Brooklyns finest because that is my kind of movie.

Why not go by yourself. You get to see what YOU want, and it's not as though you can have a nice conversation during the movie. Even when i go with my fiancee, once the movie starts, we are both quite involved in our own experience of the movie. That being said, it's nice to talk about it afterwards. I don't think it's that creepy at all.

I think me and my future Mrs. Red will go catch a flick tonight too.

If you do go see Brooklyn's Finest, please keep in mind that is it complete [censored]. An anachronism really compared to today's Brooklyn. Sure, there are some very shitty neighborhoods, but this movie is pure fiction.
