Gen ETA Day/Date wheels an upgrade?

I have two IWC reps - Spitfire Chrono and Portofino Chrono. They're both with 7750, and a regular mod with that mvt seems to be to install gen ETA day & date wheels, presumably for the more accurate font. My question is this: Since the actual IWC gens don't use the 7750 (and presumably have a proprietary day/date wheel font), is that still an improvement?

The gens use the 79320 (ETA 7750 base - modified by IWC). So a DDW change is still a huge improvement, as the standard ETA font is very close to the gen..
