asif1972
Guys, need your help. After a long time wearing other watches I have gone back to my Cali with domed plexi. Don't remember this being a problem before but now the plexi seems loose and can be pulled off quite easily. There is a thin clear rubber gasket in the case of the watch which looks to be there to seal between plexi and bezel but this seems to be next to useless. Am close to using the dreaded superglue to sort this but thought I would throw this out to the community to see if any one has any suggestions. nejad
don't use super glue!!! That gasket shouldn’t be rubber. It’s a PVC and I don’t understand how did it “worked” before and now is next to useless? Try to take the gasket out, inspect it and se if its broken or crushed. Put it back in position and press a crystal in. it should stay in place. If your gasket isn’t in a place then it can look like its not fitting proper. If watch had bad QC and wrong gasket was mounted you would know that as soon as you got a watch not years after. Your best option is to order a new gasket for 4 dollars and solve this in normal way. You can also use special two component epoxy made for this task but its around 30 dollars. PM me if you have more problems with this
asif1972
Thanks Nejad. The gasket, which does look to be PVC looks intact. The problem seems to be that when i push the plexi on hard it pushes the gasket out so it can be seen in front of the dial. Will try and re-seat it another way to see it this helps. Honestly don't know how this has happenned. QC seemed fine when i got it (from Homer whilst he was around)I may have given it to my 2 year old daugter to play with and only knows what she did with it!!! I was thinking of replacing the domed plexi with a flat version. Anyone got any ideas what size glass I need to source or where to get one. I am in the UK by the way.
