ricjos
Hi all.. I tried a friends 30$ u-boat rep, and fell in love immediately with the oversized "no-nonsense" design, that will allow you to actually check what time it is within a split-second because of the big, easy to read dial. Now I've decided I want an U-boat Flightdeck Cab rep, and I've been reading on/off for quite some time in the forums. And I've of course searched the forums for info before making this thread, but it doesn't seem the u-boats is very popular. Here's the real deal: http://www.uboatwatch.it/model.php?idM=36 And I'm considering these two reps, but I can't decide which is the one to go for? http://www.watcheden.net/u-boat-flightdeck-chronograph-asia-valjoux-movement-pvd-case-with-black-dial-white-marking-i-21744-p-1.html http://www.watcheden.net/u-boat-italo-fontana-working-chronograph-pvd-case-with-black-dial-leather-strap-i-79811-p-1.html The 7750 version is more expensive, but has correct sapphire, correct (sub)dial (though it has "dots" on 12-3-6-9 which (maybe?) is incorrect. And maybe it is a stupid question, but is the above worth an extra 250$? Of course I would like it to be "gen"-like, but I also really want a watch that will work the next 1-2 years.. So.. What is your opinions?
ricjos
I've also come across these two, which I consider. http://www.watcheden.net/u-boat-italo-fontana-automatic-pvd-case-black-dial-with-white-markers-leather-strap-i-44750-p-1.html http://www.watcheden.net/u-boat-italo-fontana-chronograph-automatic-with-black-dial-orange-marking-i-37995-p-1.html Both are automatic and look quite accurate? But are the movements more likely to fail than the more expensive 7750? I've searched the forums for info about the movements, but the posts are 1-5 years old? Isn't the qc/movements better now?
