If it is the early version, it is best to replace it with the latest ... and before the question is asked, the only way I can tell is to remove the hands and dial, and the coverplate for the date platform. The short answer is, that if it is serviced correctly and nothing breaks, I think it is reasonable to expect 18+ months.
