Opinions on dlc/pvd coatings?

Hi all,

Definitely a cool thing to have, but does anyone have experience with these dlc coatings-pam360 for ex.? Do they hold up? Scratches?

i have a pvd sub and a pvd grand carrera 36...hold up fine although i would worry about the sub scratching sooner than the carrera

I was looking at the panerais with a "dlc" coating. It's definitely a cool look, but..........

Does anyone know the dif between pvd and dlc?

PVD is a general term encompassing many different type of coating, DLC is just one of these coatings.

Other type of coatings are:

TiN (titanium nitride) - gold color

CrN (chromium nitride) - silver color

TiCN (titanium carbon nitride) - blue grey to pink

TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) - black to bronze

DLC (diamond-like carbon) - black
