gt rider Posted August 2, 2012 Report Share Posted August 2, 2012 (edited) I recently aquired a lovely Tag Heuer Carrera Day/Date (Quartz) from a friend travelling abroad but unfortunetaly I have noticed a severe scratch/dent in one of the middle links on the bracelet. I haven't played around with bracelets much but I can't seem to figure out if it's possible to replace it with a spare link (that I have) or if I'm SOL. Can anyone help me out? Also, on a less important note, I noticed the end links getting scuffed from rubbing against the watch itself. Is there any way to buff those out? LMPAZ Posted August 2, 2012 Report Share Posted August 2, 2012 Don't know if it will work on the dented link but I have seen dents in car panels removed by getting the damaged area hot (hair dryer, heat gun or even the sun if it is hot enough where you are) and then spraying it with canned liquid air used to clean off camera and computer parts. It comes out as a cold aerosol and immediately evaporates. The idea is that it will cause the metal to contract and in doing so remove the dent. For a small part like this you will want to get the bracelet (remove it from the watch itself) pretty hot but not so hot as to damage it. It may require several attempts.
