Am looking to buy a new AP Royal Oak - Already own the RO Offshore Safari model. Have read a lot about the 3120 fully in house designed and manufactured movement which they use in the Selfwinding 41mm version. What I wanted to ask is Movement 2385 that is used in the Chronograph - is this based on the 3120 or the 7750 Valljoux Movement?

Also the Movement 2326 in the Safari is this also based on the Valljoux 7750?

Any help Appreciated.

With thanks

First thing's first, Audemars do not "base" their movements on anything.

You can't "base" a chrono movement on a non chrono movement, since they are built in totally different ways.

Take a look at the ETA 2824-2 and the ETA 7750.

Audemars standard chrono movement for the ROO is the 3126, which cannot be compared with the RO non-chrono 3120 movement.
