Anguz Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 I've got an old noobmariner watch and the movement is in dire need of a repair/service. Can anyone recommend a watchsmith in the UK? Alternatively, if I take a rep to the watchsmith here where I live, will he freak out/call cops? Any advice chaps? Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk
ProMariner Posted January 10, 2014 Report Posted January 10, 2014 What kind of movement do you have ? If it is a DG2813 , (generic 21j) so you don't have to go to any watchmaker. This movement is cheap and can be replaced easily, all you have to do is remove the stem, and the hands, just make sure to buy the same movement and the hand + dial will fit perfectly ! If it is an ETA clone as I have, take look at Rep Geek, there's Mark alias Rex a good watchmaker but in this U.S. I have the same issue than you. I have a valjoux 7750 but i woud like to take it at a local watchsmith but i am afraid that he keeps the watch and call the police. So what i also suggest to you is before giving him the watch or showing it to him. Tell him that you've got a replica of a famous brand powered by an ETA 28XX and you'ld like to know if he can work on it or not..
