Polishing And Refinishing Tag Link Bracelet

I very badly need to polish and refinish my bracelet to my gen TAG Link but before I begin, i wanted a little guidance.

I have the bracelet that has alternating polished/brushed links. I'm wondering if anyone has worked on one like this before and what method they used for doing the brushed finish on the alternating links. I can't really use tape because the direction of the sanding would tear the tape up i guess, not to mention the way the links are interlocked.

I guess i could take the whole bracelet apart, but that would just be a royal pita.
