Daytona Dw 6263 Vj72 Pushers (chrono Buttons)

Recommended Posts

I just installed the pusher on my DW VJ72 kit, and I encountered a problem.

The pushers are wobbly, they are not sturdy.

Do I epoxy them to the case?

What can I do?

Can I order new pusher from ofrei (they had one for 42$u each)?

Do not buy the Ofrei pushers...they will not fit the DW case, and you may destroy them trying.

Is the problem that your pushers won't screw down tight to the case? The solution is to tap the holes. You can then use Loctite, screwing them down finger-tight, and they will be very secure.

Here's a post where I explain the procedure in more detail:

Dear Avitt, thank you

I run the tap, and threads appear to be clean and fine

The thread that look compromise are the pusher threads

So far I haven't try the Loctite or epoxy.

I saw this FASTSTEEL®,

"FASTSTEEL® is a hard kneadable, steel-reinforced, epoxy putty adhesive sealant that mixes in just one minute to provide fast repairs to items made of ferrous and aluminum metals. it comes in a handy four-ounce "tootsie-roll" form with the curing agent encapsulated in the consistency eliminates drips and runs, providing "no mess" applications with no tools required for use."

Probably, I'll order some and try with some scrap metal and screws.

Thanks,

P

I keep studying this problem :g: .

I got this tapping set from ebay Tapping set watchtoolguy.

167649-10668.jpg

The large tap is M3 x 0.35 but my genuine tube is M3 x 0.30. the small tap is M2.5 x 0.35 and the pushers are M2.5 x 2.5. My guess is that my problem was created because of these taps are not exact for genuine parts. :yuk::yuk::yuk:

Has anybody experience similar problems with this tap set ?

Thanks

Are you sure about that? I bought the tapping set from the same guy, and my 2.5mm tap has 0.25mm thread pitch. Just looking at the pictures above, I can tell that the smaller tap has a finer pitch than the larger one.

BTW, the genuine pushers have a thread pitch of .20mm, which is why I recommended against the Ofrei parts.
