"diligent" Noob About To Pull The Trigger, But...

First, thanks to the RWG, I've really learned a lot.

With an original interest in a PAM 212 or 253, I found Josh's website and decided to pull the trigger on a 212 Asian 7750. Still, after searching here and Google, I couldn't get a solid answer for U.S. customs dealings - my impression is that worst case scenario is that they may hold or confiscate, but wanted to make sure.

Also, now I'm questioning the asian movement, but not really sure what a "swiss" 7750 description on the dealer websites really means. Edge's guide II for newbies implies they're about as swiss as swiss miss hot chocolate mix, but more reliable than asian valjoux. So what's the deal? It looks like real swiss ETA/Valjoux are out there - eg Ofrei.

I do believe that most of the time the swiss valjoux movements are the genuine ETA made 7750 or 7753.

As for the customs issues, there is always a chance of your watch getting confiscated. It is a good idea to make sure your dealer guarantees delivery.

BTW, please stop saying "pull the trigger". I hate that as do many others. Thanks.
