Explorista Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Hi guys, i hope everybody is doing well. Id like to ask for help as the title implies. i had a cf 124270 fo a while now and i was happy using it. Keeps time well and works without fuss, not until it didnt. I banged the watch fairly hard on the counter and it caused it to stop working properly. It would worl and would stop occasionally, i noticed it would stop depending on its position. I did a little research about the symptoms and found out as most impacts the balance would be the first to take the force and would well be damaged first. I read more and found that the jewels would be the culprit. so i decided to get a new movement for it. As everybody knows, the cf 124270 has the vr3230 and not the one from vs. But reading on it, i read that the vs is superior compared to the vr and would take gen parts if needed. I also read that it was a straight forward swap and would be easy. So i got myself a new vs3230 and swapped it out. Has anyone here swapped a vs3230 in their clean explorer? I really would appreciate your help. I installed the movement no problem, dial, hands fit properly. The problem im encountering is with the stem. Its too long. I trimmed it down to the bare minimum of the threads im allowed to install the crown but it is still too long. Are these stems a 2 piece construction? Am i missing out on a different stem for it? I tried the vr stem but its a different design, it would go in and lock the keyless works but it wont engage. I really need your help guys. plus the case clamp screws from the vr wont fit as well. Will the vs take gen case screws? sorry for yhe long post. Been frustrated about it after waiting so long for the movement to arrive.
