diab0lik Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 Hi i was just wondering if the cg on my pam 177h was defective. as this is my first panerai i dont if you're supposed to be able to wind the watch when the lever is down? i can do it on mine...
PAMman Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 Yes, you should be 'able' to wind the watch with the CG lever closed, on both gens and reps, but it is not advisable to do so, as the closed lever puts pressure on the rubber 'o' ring under the crown and winding in this position would cause excessive wear of the seal.
Watchmeister Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 PAMan is right. If it winds as if there was no lever when it is closed look to see if the lever contacts the crown when it is closed. There is nothing more infuriating than "floppy" lever.
