infinitime
I've been trying to figure out what movement this is. The watch is an early variant PAM217. It's shape is similiar to the standard 6497-1 movement, but the shape of the plates are ever so slightly different, and there are no ETA/Unitas markings under the balance wheel. Further, it does not appear to be an Asian (CN) movement, as I've never seen one with a large balance wheel, or with the balance-wheel shock absorber in this confirguration. It is also missing the "pointer" on the balance adjust, which makes me question if it is a CN movement. In terms of finish, it is a high-quality CdG finish, similar to those seen on the CN movements. THe movement runs great and runs for about 38 hours with each winding... any thoughts? Edited April 23, 2006 by infinitime
