a german in denmark
I've just got my Cousteau Diver with a beautiful, flawless dial and fantastic overall finish. But I'm having problems with the daywheel, it's lose and it drifts back and force just by regular wear. And when I tap the case sideways, I can go through all days of the week. It does change (and alignes with datewheel) properly every night though. Is this an easy fix for a watchsmith or has something broken beyond repair? Thanks, Volker

Thanks, Volker There is a spring and click tab that hold the calendar wheel in place, one or both of these are either out of place or not engaged into the datewheel. Should be straight forward to fix. Sometimes the click tab is too thin and slips under the wheel, if this is the problem, you need to do a bit more to get it sorted out. a german in denmark
Thanks for quick answer, The Zigmeister. I just sorted out a watchsmith close to my hometown. He is a young turk, fully educated watchmaker from Istanbul. Actually a friend's friend's boyfriend, I had forgotten about. He has several jobs to make a living, one at a local jeweler/watchmaker. He knows the matter, has been building reps himself. I will see him on Sunday and see if he can fix it (and what else he can offer). If not, the Cousteau and my 3717 may take a trip to Canada for day/datewheel change and alignment and maybe movement swap, if/when Tourby gets his new batch of 7750's ....
