I was wondering if anyone has ever used such an automotive gasket maker to waterproof their watches?

I tried this to an old CN sub, applying a thin strip around the caseback and also at the base of the crown tube, with a #1 brush. While still "malleable" I screwed everything down for a moment to maintain the threading, opened and let set until dry. Once set, screwed and tightened everything down and trimmed off the visable extra around the caseback (*can cause irratation to skin). Put it on a NATO and threw it in the pool. No bubbles, no leaks, and a dry movement.

Not sure if this is any better or any worse than a greased rubber gasket, oh well, thought I would share my boring Sunday. <_<
