Currently have a movement for the IWC 3717 swap. It is the first one listed below that I purchased on Ebay. I am on Ziggy's book for 2nd week in September.

Found ajoesmith's post and now I am second guessing my 1st purchase.

What do the members think and also Ziggy if you are reading this please respond.

If you think ajoesmith's movement is significantly better let me know. I need to act fast.

Will the ebay movement need to be srviced?

With respect, Vlydog

Pic links don't work but from the description it seems like the older 17J 7750 which many members have purchased off the bay and had transplants done with no issues.

The one Joe has listed is the newer 25J 7750 movement and is being represented as new stock whereas the 17J on the bay is likely a used movement.

My take, either will do the job but Joe's is less likely to need a service right away so it could be a wash in TCO.

The Zigmeister installed the movement that you are referencing into my MBW APROO. AND The Zigmeister supplied the movement! Same movement from the same seller. It has not been serviced, but The Zigmeister made sure it was running and from a visual inspection said it looked fine. As such, I'm pretty sure he'll be good with it. Mine is running like a champ....

Certainly cannot go wrong either way. I have bought a dozen of the same movement you already have for myself as well as another dozen for other forum members. They will need servicing sooner than a brand new movement bought from ETA so in the long run the cost will be the same. But if it makes you feel better I have installed several and so far none have required servicing. Could be luck but who knows.

I bought a few of those too. They look fine, no wear to speak of, oiled nicely, and running very well. I have one in my 3717 fake.

The newer 25 jewel movement is a bit nicer, and will last longer with less wear because of the added jewels, but if you keep the 17 jewels serviced they'll last at least a lifetime.

Either way you will do well.
