Swapping An Asian 6497 From A 111 Into A 217

Recommended Posts

I have two watches with the same movement. I'd like to swap the movement from the 111h into the 217. Is there anything that would prevent a successful swap? Also, how can I remove the 6497 from the case after I remove the crown and stem, along with the two movement screws? The movements don't seem to budge even with those things all removed.

are you aware of the fact that the movement+dial on the 217 comes out from the front (like on the fiddy). you have to remove the crystal incl. the retainer ring. then the movement drops out to the front... it does not fit through the back.

on the 111 it should come out on the back after removing the 2 screws. sometimes its a bit stuck because of the plastic retainer ring, then carefully pull on the retainer ring to loosen it...
