Ham 'n' Pickle Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Maybe a newbie sort of question but what sort of process would best care for cleaning / oiling a watch bracelet ? For a SS bracelet how about : 1. clean in warm soapy water 2. dry with paper towels 3. dry in an warm place (airing cupboard) 4. a slight spray with something like WD-40 (a water displacement oil here in the UK) 5. work the links well and paper towel off any excess oil Is the 'clean in water' step needed ? Would use of a light lubricating oil be better (with or without cleaning) ? Immerse the entire bracelet in oil then wipe off or just dab on oil to the links ? Thoughts ? Ham 'n' Pickle.
