I think his new crownguard fits pretty nice to the case.

The crown guard may fit well against the case but the crown guard itself needs work. The vertical gap between the lever and the body of the CG is way too large. The lever is also not sitting properly in the crownguard when it is shut. That may be a function of how it is contacting the crown. Finally interior finish of the cg hole is not great either.

One major problem with the rep CGs for the H and newer historic PAMs is that the lever needs to be centered (between top & bottom) in the CG (similar to the 1950 CG). This was a major change that Panerai did on the H onward historics. Panerai's goal was to replicate the PRE-V 201A CG for the historic 44mm watches. The rep makers simply took the old (A to G) CG and brushed it. The CG for the H onward 44mm historic reps and the 201 A rep really needs to be redesigned. The CG on the gen H onward historics & the 201A is very prominant and unique. The 201A CG is also flat on top and bottom like the 1950 CG which makes it very simple to make (no compound curves).

I received PAM111H (Ultimate) from Davisen too(yesterday), but have the same impression. (The vertical gap between the lever and the body of the CG is way and too large!... )

I want to change CG.

Do you know a dealer selling a CG parts?

（I asked Davidsen, but it was the reply which he did not hold the stock of the new version that improved this point in）

Or do you know a person improving a CG parts?

Yeah, it appears to be a major challenge to overcome...FFlav tried this in the past unsucessfuly, he sent his gen CG to 'potential' makers in Germany, US and China, so far neither managed to create that prominent 'flare' at the middle where lever pin sits. Not sure why this is such a problem for them, but according to Flav it's got to do with unique H-series CG geometry with curve from top down and gradual flare from inside out. When compared with the gen H-series CG, the repped ones would be miles off, so the whole 'project' got put on hold.

201/A CG also has the curve in the middle, but not as noticeable as on H-series. Also, it doesn't flare from inside out, so quite possibly should be easier to replicate.

You are right the top of the 201A CG is not exactly flat the center is higher but 1mm maximum at the highest point. The deep brush strokes in the metal make it look flat. Basically the top of the 201A CG follows the edge of the case, same in the case of the G on ward historics (I said H previously, but the CG change was actually made starting with G historics). Ofcourse the PRE-V cases are a little bit different. Any way, the the older non-DSN high quality historic rep CG tops actually followed the edge of the case prettyt close (DSNs have been a bit thinner). So if they could simply cut the lever slot in the CG centered rather than offset to the top, so as the lever sits centered like the 1950, give it a nice deep brush job, IMHO we will have a pretty darn close CG.

It actually isn't the lever that needs centering as it's already centered against the middle of the crown, it's the top side of the CG - this simply needs to be thicker. If you move the lever, you end up with two 'thin' sides (top and bottom), not as good look as you'd expect, and the two screw holes would end up being out of alignment. Remember, the screw holes are lined up with the lever, for a correct geometrical and visual fit against the case and the crown itself.

Also, the lever wouldn't be centered against the crown anymore. On good reps (old-school and Jimmy Fu case sets) the lever tip is positioned right smack against the middle of the crown plate.
