Help w/First PAM Rep Purchase

I wanted to get some input from the experts on my first PAM rep purchase. I know virtually nothing about watches so I am going strictly by looks only. I have an IWC as my dress watch. I love the fact that it is understated but first class. I needed a casual watch and thought a PAM was the way to go in lieu of a flashy Rolex, Breitling, etc....

So, I've been looking through ALL the PAMs for several days and the one I like the most is the PAM222 from Trusty.

Before I make the purchase I wanted any input you all might have on that model:

1. Is it a good rep? Looks the same as the original to me....

2. What is the feeling about these Special Editions from the PAM aficionados?

3. Are the PAM black divers strap (with Panerai engraved in the rubber) what most people wear with their PAMs or is that not cool?

Any help, input or advice you could give me on my first PAM purchase would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks!
