Breitling Bentley GT

Hey guys,

I've been looking into purchasing my second rep (my first was a Rolex Sub...pretty standard) and I love the Breitling Bentley GT. The problem I'm running into is seeing so many different types of reps of the same watch. Breitling came out with 2 versions of this watch, the original GT, and the GT racing with a new caseback with the Bentley Continental GT Car engraved. Many of the dealers offer both and the GT Racing has Asian 7750 28800bhp movement while the old one has Asian 7750b1 movement. I have been looking to get the GT Racing primarily due to the better movement (and the caseback as well) and because it has the same price. The problem I am running across is that Andrew and Josh's site have their Bentley GT Racing's with "off-white subdials" which I find pretty ugly. Off-White From Andrew

I came across "King's" site and saw the one i want:

Breitling Bentley GT Blue

I've never ordered from King and had a great experience with Andrew...can anyone tell me about their experience with King...and is there that big of a difference in the new 28k movement? Also does anyone know if the gen GT racing has off-white subdials? I looked on the website and both the original and the racing looked identical with what seemed to be white subdials. Thanks a lot guys.

Search the Breitling forum for Bentley GT, I did a long write up comparing the 2 watches.

Couple of corrections to your post:

both the GT and GT Racing come with the newer 28.8K Asian 7750.

The GT Watches from Josh, Andrew, King plus Ruby, Angus, TWP, Silix, etc... are all the SAME.

Anyone who has the white dial can sell you the blue dial and vice versa.

Both gens come in white, black, blue and red which are all red. The gen also had a green I think but that color was not repped.

I would recommend the GT racing over the standard GT, the rep is slightly better.

There are differences between both as well as differences between the rep and gen,

search for my thread, read and learn.

The Gen white dial versions of both have slightly more silver subdials than on the reps.

The blue, black and red dials haveother noticable flaws though.

I love this watch and am getting some mods done to it now, butit will never be the most accurate watch to gen.

Cheers,

M

Thanks a lot, your post was really helpful. One thing though, I was referring to the subdial, like the part around the blue or the black. In the GT racing version of some reps, the subdial is listed as "off-white" and it looks the part, while the GT versions are listed as "white." This holds true in Andrew's site as well..."DIAL COLOR: Blue Dial with off-White reccessed subdials and stick markers"

If you could take a look at the links i provided and look at the subdials and tell me what you think I would appreciate it. Also if you compare a Racing version to a regular GT version on Andrew or Josh's site the difference is apparent. Thanks in advance.

go by the pictures, not neccessarily the words on the dealers sites in terms of colors.

i owe the white dial version of both the gt and gt racing.

they are the exact same dial with the exact same subdials.

cheers,

M

gt was from Eddie Lee (not reallyin business anymore)

bought in '06

gt racing from Ruby

bought in '07

there are many good dealers.

the factory made a couple of changes like the bracelet, caseback, ar, brushing the case; but the dials, subdials, hands, lume never changed between these 2 models.

the caseback looks much better on the racing model (one with car) quality of caseback engraving is equal to gen.

gt model (wing logo and text) caseback is definitely not as good as the gen.

cheers,

M

K thanks alot, I'll trust you since you own them...if you don't mind, which dealer did you purchase yours from?
