BreatheDeep
Hi all Can somebody confirm this info for me please. from the various posts i have read i gather i cannot change from a A7750 28800bpm to a genuine valjoux 7750 with out doing some work to the hands? On one post i gathered i had to enlarge the subdial hand mounts but on another it said the opposite. What is the correct way needed? Do i have anything to gain by doing this swap or are the A7750 reliable enough? Many thanks Andy

To reiterate: A7750 hand stem sizes: subdials = 0.20mm chrono seconds = 0.20mm hour = 2.00mm minute = 1.20mm VJ7750 hans stem sizes: subdials = 0.17mm chrono seconds = 0.25mm hour = 2.00mm minute = 1.20mm and BTW, it is also hypothetically possible to transfer the stems over from the A7750 to the VJ7750. BreatheDeep
So every hand is moddable bar the subdial hands(centre holes too big) If i could get hold of the original subdial hands froma tag chrono i could use these with another movmt. Is the swap worth it? I read that The Zigmeister thinks the asian movmt is ok. Anyone have any first hand failure stories?
RWG Technical
The swap is possible, only if you have a standard 7750 layout, 12-9-6 subdials. Is it worth it? Only you can answer this one... consider that the majority of ETA 7750's sold are used and surplus, the fact it's an ETA doesn't mean it doesn't need to be serviced, and maybe right away...add the servicing cost to the movement price, add the cost of the swap from Asian to ETA, and you can easily eat up $500 or more... One solution is to service the Asian 7750, at some point, preferably before it quits, or if it's working fine, just wear and enjoy the watch as is. The only failure stories I have are of unserviced movements, either Asian (majority) or ETA (minority). After servicing the A7750 is as realiable as the ETA, at least from my experience it is.
